Hi, what is a good way to get alchemy material? I notice that NPC vendor usually have limited stocks of the ingredients I want. Would you guys suggest I take up Herbalism alongside alchemy so I can harvest my own ingredients?

Herbalism is usually paired with either alchemy or inscription as the source of materials for the crafting profession.
Other commonly used gathering-crafting profession combinations are:
Mining - with Blacksmithing, Engineering or Jewel Crafting.
Skinning - with Leatherworking
Enchanting - with Tailoring (Get cloth from killing mobs to level tailoring, then disenchant items made with tailoring to get materials for leveling enchanting.

If you don’t want to take up herbalism you can also buy materials that other players have gathered from the Auction House. Ask a guard in a capital city for directions to your nearest Auction House.
