Blizzard, I am pleading with you. The .5 dungeon questline was designed for a different time of the game. Forcing 90% of the raiding population to the same exact island with these horrendous spawn timers and drop rates has the whole population getting really nasty with each other.
I don’t mind grinding for things that deserve it, but this doesn’t feel like a normal grind. It’s people sitting in one spot for 6 hours fighting to click on one basket. It’s guilds sitting on layers and owning the island so that the other faction can’t do the quest. This is the most unfun thing I have ever done in WoW. It doesn’t feel like a challenge, it doesn’t feel rewarding, it’s not fun gameplay. Please address this.

Everything you said is spot on. I actually hate that I can’t even do what I want to do because of this one quest. Considering the time I already put into the quest it’s horrible feeling to have all that work basically wasted because I can’t do the rest of it.

It took me about 3 hours of in game time to complete this, as Horde on Crusader Strike (the most toxic PvP server in SoD)
It’s not any longer or more difficult than beads in Dire Maul or the last step with bracers from UBRS, even with constant PvP. Having the island cleared of mobs actually makes getting the basket much easier.
Learn the spawn points for the basket and check them constantly. It respawns quickly, but only one basket is up at a time, shared among all spawn points.

Bro this place is so terrible, so toxic, it’s literally got me so frustrated I don’t even feel like even doing the quest. It’s crazy how much of a bottle neck this quest is right now. Blizzard has to do something man. Insane.

You are HORDE. Try as alliance on crusader-strike. This is MUCH worse than the beads.

I’m on wild growth horde side fam. We are outnumbered over here too. It’s all the alliance and like one group of horde. I cant find a damn group to do it because most people can solo it probably. My friend was out there for eight hours.
2 of those hours were just me dying to Alliance and trying to find a different layer
You realize Horde have like 3x as long of a corpse run as Alliance to get back to the island, right?
I went there 3x today and horde dominated. You’re just a troll, horde dominate CS. If you think this quest is fine you’re full of it and not even worth engaging with.
It’s totally fine. Look up the basket spawns, learn them, understand that only one basket is up at a time, and don’t even bother with kills because the drop rate is trash.
When alliance dominate the layer, just ride around checking every possible basket spawn. If one spawns near Weavile minions, it’s literally worth it to pull them and let someone else loot it so that it can spawn in a different spot.
I feel you bro, i’m on a pve server even. It’s insane right now at least like 40-50 people here. Lol at the end of the day I think we can all agree they need to up the drop rate, the amount that drop, and turn them into hyper spawns so it doesn’t become a traffic zone where everyones stuck there for hours. Then more show up causing more of a traffic jam. I want to hope they didn’t intend the original quest to be like that and if they’ve experienced it themselves they have to see there is clearly something wrong with this quest. I get it should be hard to get, but not this type of hard to get. It just leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. I hope they come out with a fix by tuesday at least. It would be extremely welcomed…

The basket IS a hyperspawn. I looted my last 5 in back to back baskets. Spawned right next to each other.
Only one is up at a time. If you’re riding around and not seeing it, then it’s because it’s in a spot that no one is checking for and therefore won’t spawn in the other locations.
You need to go out of your way to make sure it gets looted so that it keeps spawning. Some of the spawns are next to Weavile minions. Those won’t get looted naturally (people try to avoid those mobs) - you need to make it happen.
I have done this quest a few times now between SoM and SoD. It’s easier on SoD, with the island cleared, than it is when you’re the only one there (because it takes a long time to kill the mobs yourself & therefore you can’t loot every basket)
beads are easy, just go to Lbrs, I finished in two trash runs. Zzzz
The quest [I See Alcaz Island In Your Future…] to drop the Bloodkelp item on Alcatraz Island is impossible to complete. The respawn is very slow, and the item should be distributed to everyone in the group. Only one person is getting the loot, and with 30 people farming on the island, it’s incredibly complicated and makes the quest nearly impossible. PLEASE make the item at least shareable among the group.

Axewipe is trolling, I’m Alliance on Crusader Strike, it has been horde camped for 2 DAYS. I even tried coming online at 4 am to try and get something. All baskets are camped and have a MINIMUM 10 minute respawn timer with as long as a 20 minute respawn timer. When it spawns I try to rez and get it only to be IMMEDIATELY killed, if you’re not a stealth class you’re cooked. I’ve been on this quest for 2 days and only have got 2 when it was briefly controlled by Alliance. This is NOT normal under any circumstance for any quest.

This is a “you’re on a PvP server” problem. I recommend PvE servers for people like you.
The actual quest is simple once you understand it. You do NOT farm the mobs for drops. You loot the basket. It is literally easier to do the quest when all of the mobs are dead, than it is to have the island to yourself.
You CANNOT even loot a basket as Alliance, I just explained that.
I would love to transfer to a PvE server but for literally no reason blizzard has locked that too meaning the character you’ve created on the broken imbalanced pvp server is basically just dead, you either have to restart or quit and I’m heavily leaning on just quitting.
