I thought the tier .05 ectoplasm quest sucked…but this Alcaz Island quest is absolutely insanely stupid. It’s a terrible bottle neck and blizzard to need to find out a way to make this quest more accessible. Raising the spawn rate by a lot, allow multiples to drop, a ton more bags spawning too and make maybe so its layered a lot more so there isnt a million people in one area doing it. This turned into a quest where you find a group and kill some elites together to everyone free for all and having to sit there for six hours and potentially only get a couple kelp. It’s terrible and clearly not meant for the current times…times have changed and this quest should change with that in mind.

Best part is you pay 120g right before this quest to then be stuck. I gave up after going out there 3x today and getting 2 kelp.

So glad I rushed the quest early before the rush of people.

Every single thread about this quest is from people who think you need to kill mobs for the drop.
It’s a loot quest. You need to loot the basket on the ground with bloodkelp in it. It is much faster to do this when every mob is dead than it is to have the island to yourself and clear your way to each spawn.
I bet if Questie used the “loot object” icons, instead of the “drops from mob” icons, complaints about this quest would go away immediately.

If the baskets are ACTUALLY all camped: then it respawns very quickly. It won’t take long to finish the quest.
But what usually happens is that the spawns are NOT all being camped. A basket spawns where it doesn’t get looted (like in the underground tunnel, past Weavile’s minions) and then the other locations don’t spawn. Because only 1 basket can be up at any given time.
Idk why you’re insistent on trolling, after camping baskets for 6+ hours yesterday (mind you I was also being camped by horde so I only got a grand total of 2 for all that play time) they spawn at a MINIMUM of 10 minutes and a MAXIMUM of 20 minutes, I set timers the whole time. They do NOT spawn “very quickly”, and if there is only 1 basket at a time, this still makes it IMPOSSIBLE. For anyone who is not on their faction dominated server to get any because they can’t walk 2 steps without dying. And if there’s 100+ people and they’re all on the same island and faction that’s STILL a problem because nobody can get them either.
It needs to be fixed. I spent a week and tons of gold doing this quest chain just for it to be impossible to do on this part. I’ve been logging on ALL DAY waiting for a time where it wasn’t swarmed by horde and it’s still IMPOSSIBLE.

You’re pretending to complain about the quest, but your actual problem is with PvP (“too many Horde on the island”)
Should have picked PvE 
Even for PvE servers there’s like 100+ people on the same island at any given time making it impossible for them to finish in a reasonable amount of time as well. Again, not sure why you’re trolling. Blizzard won’t give you a cookie for being obtuse.

I don’t agree. I did this quest in Season of Mastery, by myself, when others were ranking.
It took longer back then, than it did on Friday in SoD. Because you can’t get the baskets when you’re alone or in a small group. One will spawn next to Weavile’s minions and then it’s GG - can’t kill those, need to farm kills.
Nobody played SoM which is probably why you had an easy time there, and you’re literally doing it on the dominate faction and were able to actually click a basket. Your experience is irrelevant, just because you think you had an easy time (which you didn’t it still took you 3 hours you said) it’s unacceptable to have such an impossible quest.

I had a HARDER time in SoM. Because I was solo. And I couldn’t loot baskets.
On SoD, I just ran around between the basket spawn points. Because all the mobs were dead. Much easier.
You have got to be trolling, I’ll say it one more time and after I’m not responding to you because it’s obvious you’re trolling. YOU CANNOT AS ALLIANCE GET A BASKET. AT ALL. YOU CAN’T, YOU ARE INSTA KILLED BEFORE YOU EVEN CAN CLICK THE ITEM. This is UNACCEPTABLE for any game design to DISALLOW your players to play your game. It’s SUPER SIMPLE.
