I have a message from Al’ar, translated by a very distinguished ornithologist of mythical beasts:
"I want to see Kael’thas speak to Rommath and Lor’themar. And yes, I want Kael’thas to come back in a real way. (NOT unrealistic, I am a Phoenix with perma-rez abilities after all. Did you really think I couldn’t rez others?)
I hear a few people say no one cares, but that’s not true. MANY of us care about my owner, Kael. And those who care are the people who have been paying for the game over 10 years and are many in number. I flew around Azeroth yesterday and found many people, including new players, digging into the lore of Kael and others too, like Arthas. The rich lore of these characters bring great feels and purpose to the game, and since Belfs live THOUSANDS of years, it makes sense Kael would be a permanent charachter.
After all… Death is merely a setback.
But my feather’s are in a terrible ruffle and I have preened myself BALD about what’s happened.
Kael was retconned twice, he went from being a calm spoken prince who wanted to study in Dalaran and was reluctant to lead to being a mistachioed crackhead villian the moment he set a foot in outland (Fel’s a heck of a drug) just because blizz was short on time and needed bosses. Then he was retconned again in Shadowlands to being a petulant brat placed in the emasculating time out zone and he has no justice! HE WASN’T EVEN “ALLOWED” TO STRIKE AT KEL’THUZAD! He keeps getting tossed in low key because they KNOW there are MANY people who want him, but they do it low key because they have another interests and agendas. (I love the Belf heritage armor quest, but again no cinematics, low key and only there for belfs.) To live, I tell myself Kael left a clone of himself in Shadowlands and actually peaced out to DOTA2 as the Invoker, since the Invoker is based off Kael.)
How awesome it would be to have him and Lor’themar (whom Kael appointed as regent) team up. To have CINEMATICS of them and Rommath instead of more bobble heads (lately I noticed with Anduin the bobbleheads don’t even bobble now, you just hear the voice!) ::warble::
Let Kael’thas Sunstrider RISE from the ASHES like the PHOENIX he is, to get the legacy he was denied by sloppy writing. Let Lor’themar and Rommath rez him with my phoenix power. Let them traverse all of Azeroth in fiery fury to PURGE every last trace of the scourge, and then, at long last, settle down in Silvermoon and determine Silvermoon shall no longer have one solitary leader, but a council of representatives to represent the wills of the people! Of course Kael, Rommath, Lor’themar will be among those representatives.
Or… make Kael leader of the San’layn - He can teach them to stop being hostile and organize their unruly ways and then we could get a new race to play: the BELF Vampire.
Kael is too gorgeous to be an ugly Venthyr. It’s canon in the books that he looks perfect in every way. (WC3 remake they made Kael a big beefy fabio guy, like why you messsing with his slender beautiful BELF BONES?! TBC expac he went bald for a while. These things must be made up for!)
Is it a gender thing? I notice Arthas was ERASED. But Tyrande got a whole redemption story and comes back, and Sylvannas really doesnt get a punishment, just gets to go play Soul Soccor in the Maw.
If we must continue to ignore fans, then at least place Kael in the chair behind Lor’themar in Silvermoon so i can say hi once a day and I’ll stop squaking! ::SCREECH:: Have him wander around Silvermoon chillaxing so i can click on him for a short comment and even just that will be enough to make up for taking this huge dump on his lore.
But I digress, ::BRAAAWWKK:: THANK YOU FOR PUTTING HIM IN THE STORY, BUT PLEASE STOP DOING IT SO LOW KEY!!! There was and even STILL IS so much potential there for him to be a PHOENIX from the ASHES, with ROMMATH AND LOR’THEMAR IN ON IT! I want justice for Kael and i likewise understand how upset the Arthas people are. The story has to be written by AI bots at this point. PLEASE DO KAEL JUSTICE! Stop writing to justify the two retcons, and please just hear us and take the effort to LET THE PHOENIX RISE!!!
