I had a rogue need on them because he said, and I quote, “I like money” and “people who need runes should just farm them.”
sounds like a rogue to me. top tier class fantasy
runes can also keep you from taking a durability hit if you suicide with them before the mob gets a killing blow.
Really, runes arent just for casters/healers like most casters healers will drone on about.
I would bet that is basically never worth it. As repairs go up, so does the value of dark runes. If you are dying into red gear re-evaluate what you are doing, like maybe give a healer the runes you are using to avoid repairing.
TFW they’re worth 6g on ah. And you use them to save 50 silver?
On nightslayer horde, they are 13g right now. Incredibly sad.
I also share similar experiences with the OP, being a Resto main spec, Bear off spec druid.
Typically ill make the group, and ill just HR runes to myself.
Healers do whisper and complain, i don’t care.
If i post a LFM in guild chat, ill say i’ll split runes 50/50 with any guild healers, if any do want to come.
I won’t let dps take runes. And if they do come and roll need, they get promptly removed.
When they say they don’t like it? I tell them to roll a tank or a healer. Usuaully they go quiet after that.
I have wanted to make a tank for a long time, but the community has no room to learn how to do it. It’s expected you move at the speed of light, knowing everywhere to go, what to avoid, what to fight. Learning = Trolling. I think that is why there is a big tank shortage.
nah there is room, but you have to confidence your way into it and not put up with people who don’t like it.
“I haven’t tanked in classic in years please bear with me. If I do something very wrong just yell at me for being dumb” goes a long way. Especially as horde where RFC is such an early dungeon and into WC you can do a lot of learning there. But the biggest lesson you learn is that dps are supposed to watch their threat and its not on you if they don’t.
multishot hunters
aoe mages
rogues that can’t hit the tank’s primary target.
If they die its on them because strong threat to counteract that doesn’t come until higher levels/talents/skills/gear.
Just remember people at this point in the game can not do dungeons without being boosted if they don’t have a tank and nobody plays tank so they will put up with a lot
If your truly new to tanking or even if you are trying to get experience, i find most people won’t care as long as you say something. Give them a heads up.
The people who do care? Tellem to pound sand.
Don’t have confidence before starting your own groups? Watch some videos or read some guides. Ask friends to play with you, or guildies. There’s plenty of ways to gain experience without tanking. You can even just observe how other tanks go about things when your doing dungeons.
My advice right now though is get the WeakAura addon, find tank specific weakauras on wago that show threat numbers on nameplates, or have name plates that change colors based off threat. Get a WA that announces things like missed taunts, or parries, etc etc.
Tanking isn’t hard. Nothing in classic is hard. Sure there are knowledge checks, and wipes might happen, but again, anyone who yells at you can pound sand. Those who matter won’t care, and those who care don’t matter.
I generally assume a druid tanking late game dungeons is going to roll need on healing pre-raid bis. Thats what i did when i tanked as a druid.
It’s best not to assume that, most druids raid feral. They still use a lot of mana though and should roll on dark runes.
Leader of the pack and innervate are valuable, and they are often picked over rogues.
Theres only 26k feral druid parses in molten core, but there are 349,943 rogues. Feral druid dps is high enough now to warrant bringing over a rogue because of the 3%crit but most people do not do this.
Thankfully I don’t have any of these problems on my new warrior; now level 59
This is the problem all the committed to DPS Warriors not saying you are one but whenever I’m putting a dungeon group together I get messages from “DPS” Warriors all the time.
You just don’t need/want nearly as many and the effort to play them at a high level is more than rogue right now imo.
The irony is that we’re playing post 5X nerf WoW classic so you can tank most if this stuff in cloth assuming you have enough stamina to not get globaled.
My warrior is not a specific role, just a leveling build I like, it does decent damage and special attacks play as if I have 35% crit when I only have 14%. My overpower while talented crits 94% of the time, that is 30% above what it should be. Execute at 30%, thats basically 15% above what it should be, and WW / Cleave crit 25% of the time, basically 10% over what it should be. HS and auto seem to be tracking close to 14%.
First noticed the crit being a bit, excessive at level 25 and so started tracking it with details… What surprises me is that it wasn’t just a fluke, its been this way thr whole time I’m guessing. Most certainly not going to out my warrior since he’s got either busted RNG or some wacky talent selection order caused this and since I dont want blizzard fixing it ever ill not be bug reporting.
Where was I going with this… Oh, yeah you can tank with any spec very effectively with out any real problems using a fast MH and if you are getting battered a shield.
This is the problem Cezar Warrior zug me smash no use shield
do the dam
I think you should of clarified that youre actually a rdruid for raid and youre needing on runes.
Other than that everything was fine.
Most people who spec for a dungeon expect that to be your main spec, so they will assume you arent rolling on an off spec thing.
Smart zug is BiS, you gotta know when you DW, when to zerker, when to tank up and when to disarm., I even spec PH to keep my existing pack stationary-ish when zerk shifting intercept slapping an unruly mob to taunt and dip back, and can grab zerker buff at the same time for extra zug on tne way back from that sad face rage loss.
Warrior is the most common class because its so dominant in near every aspect if the game when played well…, problems occur when zugs practice “The Meta”
You sound utterly miserable to play with
