i feel as if aimed shot while moving and decreasing the damage by 20% is a fair trade.
Don’t you touch my aimed shot dmg.
It barely hits hard enough outside of CA to be worth it as it is. If the spec needs more ability to kite (which it absolutely does) there is no “fair trade”. A fair trade is to simply give MM what it needs, no “trading” occurring whatsoever.
Having said that, I am a big fan of the idea of giving Aimed Shot an incentive to stand still, rather than punish for having to move. E.g.
Aimed Shot
2.5 second cast
30 focus
Aimed Shot can be cast while moving and does 248% * AP damage. If you stand still while casting Aimed Shot it gains 50% armor penetration.
I think this would create very dynamic and fun gameplay, while at the same time giving us a tool we need to kite (we need something). It would give solid choices == skill cap in PvP for doing damage, and would even apply for the same reason to the skill cap in PvE, though really in the same way it does now.
I always thought it would be cool if Aimed Shot had a sort of charge style cast bar. Like the longer you stood still to cast it, the more damage it does. then it would launch once it got to the end of its cast for full damage. So you could shoot it instantly but it would do as much as a partial or full charge. So the longer you “AIM” the more damage you do.
Maybe, but it has to be worth casting, even when instant. It is already not that high damage sans Careful Aim for its cast time/cooldown. Maybe if you also scale the focus cost accordingly that might work, but then what’s the point of Arcane Shot?
I mean, its certainly thematically appropriate, but it doesn’t really fit the math of the spec.
I agree, the focus would have to scale on cast time. Personally i wouldnt have a cd on it if it were implemented like that. Numbers would definitely need adjusted. It could even have some sort of mortal strike or bleed if it finished a full cast.
I never understood why MM had arcane shot anyway. It just not as thematic to me.
I’ve heard multiple times that mobility means very little in pve. I think aimed shot should be able to be cast wile moving without any damage reduction. This would have little if any impact on pve but would improve MM play in PvP.
You’re talking pvp, correct?
Link the Charge Bar directly to your focus, the more focus you spend the more damage it deals. This way it has the potential to hinder some abilities for a short period of time at the benefit of doing a mass amount of damage
I always thought they should give MM a passive buff that kicks in when standing still for 3 seconds, and cancelled when moving. That buff would, for example, increase Aimed damage by 15% or decrease its cast time. Then you can make Aimed castable on the move by default, and give the player the choice of standing still (becoming a turret) or moving…
Like in WoD?
Thatd ruin the aim of the aimshot while moving, thus changing the basis of the name “Aimed Shot”. I don’t want a dmg decrease, we already went down that route before
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. That’s the key to aiming while moving.
I like the AimS while moving but reducing the 20% damage is completely a Trolling huntard not understanding how AimS is weak outside the CA phase. Get your Troll lowbie out of here.
Is this aimed at me?
If so, how new are you?
Can you read? I specifically quoted the original poster, Topshotdropa, and was replying to him.
If you are him and this Whlm hunter is his alt than yes it also apply to you. If you are not him than learn to read before you accuse other.
What a preposterous proposal…
I can read. Top is 120, so when I see low level alt, and it’s all I’m known for, it’s easy to think what I thought. Calm down, the largest issue with shoot and scoot is the salt from casters. That’s all.
You may have heard that, but it’s wrong in BFA PVE instances.
The skill of figuring out when it’s worth risking standing still to cast aimed shots is a big part of the fun playing MM in both PVE and PVP. That should not be removed.
Honestly if you take the cast from aimshot its practically bm…
