AI RPers - What?

So apparently there are RPers on MG using AI to create their RP posts and replies?

This is a new one to me. Has anyone here felt like they’re RPing with an AI? Anyone use AI to create or enhance their TRP?

MG has their own…unique…issues

I am still not seeing the issue.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that thread – maybe it helps people with anxiety or something, idk. I’m sure people are doing it on WrA as well. Strikes me as a waste of time but to each their own, I guess.

Maybe I should make a chatbot based on that pregnant DK.

Haha, yeah, the whole AI RP thing is a bit strange to me too. I mean, the whole point of RP is the personal touch, right? I get that it might help some folks with anxiety, but it feels a bit like missing the essence of roleplaying.

And about that pregnant DK chatbot idea, Kirsy, you might be onto something! Imagine the conversations it could churn out. Might be hilarious or just downright bizarre. Either way, it’s an interesting twist. RP is all about creativity, after all. Who knows, maybe it’ll catch on as a quirky trend.

^^ Written by AI based on this thread haha

The thing I like about RP is connecting with another person’s vision, passion and interest through a shared enjoyment of a specific medium. The other person is the entire point. Without that, I might as well just be writing essays.

why should i be bothered to read rp posts that no one bothered to write tbh

It’s completely understandable that you may question the value of reading roleplay (RP) posts when the effort in crafting them seems lacking. RP can be a rich and immersive experience when well-written, offering engaging narratives and character interactions. If you come across posts that don’t meet your expectations, consider exploring different RP threads or expressing your preferences within the community. Constructive feedback can encourage others to enhance their writing, and you might discover RP scenarios that truly captivate your interest.

(There is the AI’s response to your question, Kailarra)

(Also as a teacher who has had to read their fair share of analysis question responses and essays submitted by students who think I won’t know AI writing when I see it, I am not even surprised that RPers are trying this crap now)

Were you in SW back in Wrath when the one particular preggo DK happened and gave birth on the cathedral altar? It went on for hours.

So long as I live, I will never forget it. The funniest thing I have ever witnessed in this game firsthand.

i’ve been accused of playing pregnant death knights before, as has my rp partner. they’ll mention having kids, and then get told in that IC-OOC way that death knights can’t have kids. then they casually point out that they had those kids before Arthas was even born and they weren’t always a death knight.

There’s also adoption to consider.

Just because you can’t go the same route 90% of the population goes, doesn’t mean that all other routes are closed as well.

Bolvar’s a prime example of Kailarra’s concept.

I say take a leap in the other direction and… you know what, we might need to take this to discord, it’s probably too gross for the forums.

I made a Lance bot to have conversations with and it was hilarious.
