For some reason he never received any punishment despite being one of the most blatant AHKer/cheater out there. There is literally a clip of him, on stream, pulling up the AHK software on his desktop and saying “Yeah, I have AHK software, so what? I don’t use it”
Literally WHY would anyone have that software on their PC if they “don’t use it”. Doesn’t make any sense.
It’s a macro and scripting interface basically. It allows you to put far more inputs in than usual, but can be used innocently for something like changing your caps lock to a tab key bind.
The issue is that you can also kick bot with it, or create macros that interact with data off of WAs for example to automate responses to certain scenarios.
Kinda similar to the kick conditional, just masked more and more fine tunable.
Think of it as an unchecked WAs that all the pros use in eu, assuredly for a very fair playing field, right guys??
I’ve seen some crazy evidence videos that are much more clearer than this one. Ones where he never turns his back to rogues or it bugs out and his char is doing insane movements.
Don’t even need to show them, just need to find the clip where Dekel, willingly on his on stream, opens up the AHK software on his computer and says “Yes I have AHK installed, but do I use it? No”.
who the hell installs AHK if they “don’t use it”? wat.
There’s a longer form somewhere, but I cba going on the hunt for it.
What’s interesting is Blizzard has had hundreds of reports for this, specifically to Dekel. MVQ made it his life mission to get him banned for it, and blizzard never did.
It’s a programming language that makes it easy to use your keyboard buttons to activate code, and also easy to write code that sends keystrokes and other peripheral inputs to your pc.
Most people are concerned about using it to make your wow hotkeys rapid-fire while held down (or maybe toggled on/off). This will give your character an advantage in the various race-conditions that occur in pvp, like casting an ability during a tiny gap in a CC chain, two rogues trying to open on/sap each other in stealth, picking up or returning the flag in WSG etc.
Yes I think this counts as cheating, but blizz seems to have no interest in preventing or detecting its usage. Nor do they care about other methods of making “unnatural” inputs, like programmable keyboards/mice or other non-AHK programs. I think they mostly rely on reports and evidence provided by players for this kind of cheating.
They even added a version of this to the game in the Dragonflight: the “Press and Hold Casting” option. However this option is inferior because it only works with abilities dragged from the spellbook to the action bar, and it fires “only” about 10 times per second.
