I bought 2 items off the AH that showed you need to be level 70 to use. When I took them out of the mail, they said you have to be level 80 to use.

Same here. If you click useable items and upgrades in the AH filter, all items show up, but the level reads as “70”, until you buy it. Then its 80 after you take it out of the mailbox. Nuts.

Under Filter
List your lvl in both boxes and include useable it worked for me.
Also once you reach 71 then you can get cheap gear 515 to 521 including Boots Chest Bracers when you include your gear type . Also under miss. you can get a Neck a Cape and a ring . Some things are cheaper than others and is dependent on your realm.
Using the filter didn’t work for me. Setting the filter to lvl 70-70 useable still showed the items as level 70 on the first AH page, then showed the real level on the second page when you go to actually buy it.

First, didn’t work.
Second, it shouldn’t be this difficult.
Just chalk it up to another major bank/AH bug that wasn’t dealt with before launch. But I do think the Warband bank problem with work orders is worse. Both unforgiveable.
Level 80 gear is displayed with a level 70 requirement on the root search, so it will also show up under these filters.
Been burned twice myself. Listing Items min/max didnt help. It says 71-72, and then when it is mailed. Requires level 80.

You can see the actual requirements when you’re in the submenu buying the item. That said, I haven’t seen any 71-79 items that say requires level 70. Only the level 80 items seem to be affected. A level 71-79 filter should work properly.
I found that only the main window tooltip will display the error Level requirement as 70. then when I click the item and hover over it, the tooltip will display the level 80 requirement to equip.
This has been a problem since the start of Shadowlands, AH gear showing a specific min level to equip, then after you buy it it has a different, higher one.
Level 70 gear rewards were in Dragon flight. The gear you get in TWWI is great for 71’s
The filter does not work for lvl 70 which is a bug. but scroll to the way down to the bottom bottom ilvl in the list aquiring ilvl 424 or below you should be ok. Don’t buy the higher gear it won’t be able to use until your that level.
The 71 the filter works fine but NOT for 70 and you need to put your lvl in both boxes plus useable . Only starts working correctly at 71 and the 6 pieces of crafted gear is great at boosting your toons stats. I have almost 40 toons at 71 and none of them geared up until level 71.
The gear available are Chest Boots and Bracers in your gear type and Neck Cloak and Ring in the Armor/misc. search. All for less than 1 piece of useless 70 gear
Just got hit with this myself. Items are showing level required 70 or 71 in the AH listing. When they show up in your mailbox they are level 80 required. Very broken and very player impacting, taking thousands of gold and giving stuff you cant use in return. Cant believe this hasnt been at least mentioned in hotfix posts, if not fixed. Not cool. At least warn folks. This means the AH is VERY broken for anyone sub-80. This is a BIG issue thats not being mentioned at all.
This has caused me a huge head ache trying to gear an alt and has basically stopped all progress for several days as i just get frustrated and give up because his gear is only level 100 ilvl and nothing on the AH will work for his level and its just been a huge pain in the AS tbh i dont even want to talk about it. But imagine you are only ilvl 100, all the gear you buy says level 70 req, you buy it now it says level 80 req, cant afford more gear all the gear i can wear is 200x more expensive than it was before the expac launched. This expac while it has its moments that ive absolutely loved it is riddled with bugs, and I really hope this isnt a trend going forward.
A month after the last post – still a problem. I thought I forgot to filter the first time when a level 80 required (instead of 76) pants showed up in the mailbox. So I tried again, very carefully this time. In the end, I’m out at 5000 gold for a couple pairs of plate pants that I will almost certainly not wear at level 80.
I guess I coooould just stick them back on the AH and hope another unsuspecting victim of this bug comes along.
