It’s obvious what the intent of repeatedly listing an item for 1% of its current value and immediately delisting it is. This isn’t a court of law and ‘well technically’ arguments don’t matter. Stop treating offenders like children who don’t know any better and punish behaviors that are intentionally predatory and not in good faith.
The bots do ruin the ah. They massively undercut to catch people not paying attention. There are addons that will atleast tell you that the gold is too low
I don’t get every one, but a majority of them. It’s something though, because I’ve whispered to thank the person after I made 40k one night and even though they just listed an item on my server, said there is no one playing by that name, even though right after they kept listing ore for 7.5G, maybe it says that if they also appear offline, not sure.
Buy the item. Flip it. Profit.
huh…well thats interesting.
not in a video game where no rules are broken…maybe in life where laws are need to protect folks.
Do you say this about ganking? Its just PvP. Do motivations matter when you waste someones time killing them when they want to quest?
its a video game. Its literally based on war and conflict.
The markets themselves thrive on conflict.
Nothing wrong with it and the motivation to make gold isnt wrong in this context.
PROVE the posted it at 1/10 the price to scam and not just because they wanted to get it out of their bags.
I can wait.
lol
bliz aint gonna waste time with this one unless they find automation, Im afraid.
Not worth the thousands of tickets.
if you noticing something funny buy out the low bait BO and build it up and re sell it to them lol or resell it at the right price
Would you sell an item in real life before you check how much it’s worth or how much you are being given before you sell it?
Intent or not, it is just undercutting.
Problem only arises if it is a bot doing it, if it is player, I dont see any problem.
Stop undercutting me by 1C and I stop undercutting you in return by 30%.
Deal?

Bait posting sucks OP.
Typical shady gamer behavior.
Sadly it’s not breaking any rules, so you’ll just need to be more careful when posting.
If you want you can play AH wacka-mole and try and catch the bait.
Such is gamer life my friend, forums are a harsh wasteland, so you’ll get no sympathy here dude. ![]()
So when you go to the store you always buy the most expensive item? Sure you do.
Think about what you said here for a minute. It is REALLY ignorant.
Players have to opt into world pvp where ganking is possible. It is however on classic pve realms, an offense to ‘trick’ or ‘bait’ someone into flagging for pvp.
It’s a video game. Its literally based on the rules and parameters set by the developers and there has been precedent of players being suspended/banned for manipulating the market. There is nothing wrong with punishing those who are intentionally scamming other players with bait AH posts. If someone puts something up on the AH, it should always be with the intent to sell that item, not to trick or bait others into posting identical items at the ridiculously low price you set so you can snipe them and repost later at the actual price set by normal market behaviors.
Like you said, this isn’t life where laws are needed to protect folks who claim to innocuously undercut by 95%. It’s obvious who the offenders are by their auction posting habits, which can easily be tracked.
Stop using addons to put your prices in and pay attention. Problem solved!
The issue more likey is AH mods doing it automatically. Those should be banned
that’s not scamming, scummy, maybe, but not scamming.
report it if you see it happening. not sure what else you want done here.
If I want to get rid of something I often past it low to get rid of it… This should be reported now?
They are within their right to do so. Nothing against the ToS.
I agree I know if I sell something low price to get rid of it that people will flip it no problem from me
