AH 'rules'

so with all the changes over the last while…what rules are there for the AH as far as delisting and relisting? Anything?

Only one AH rule:

Caveat Emptor.

There’s really no rules so to speak. There’s just what the software will and won’t let you do.

For the most part, this. Technically you can get in trouble if you mess with the AH too hard but realistically the only way that’ll happen is if you go out of your way to tank it (and have an obscene amount of time and money to waste).

Rule number one…
Buy my auctions, 7 years of mogs are on and will be more on tonight.
If I get it back I vender it.
Everything goes…

No rules, you’ll just be slowed down after X continuous transactions [clicking to post an auction, cancel an auction, etc] ~ if you skew the market by a lot then it also sets off an alarm for blizzard to warn you or something.

Past that, people do dirty tactics or just camp the AH.
It’s kind of a free for all it seems, so many things tanking in SL and prices so frickin weird.

AH goblins are totally not botting and automating their cancel scans wink wink nudge nudge It’s just a coincidence that they all park their longbois right next to mailboxes and sit there with their afk flags up for hours upon hours.

I canceled a auction today.
200 heavy leather for 50 copper…
I was quick as a fox on that one…

None, do whatever you want while abiding the rules for the rest of the game (no botting).

Wait, they actually have monitors on the AH to look for people trying to game the system?

The rule is that if you list an item at an outrageous price and you want to make gullible people think that it is in demand at that price, you post a bid at slightly less than the asking price on your other account. Then cancel just before the auction expires when no one bought it.

well…ok. I must have misread something somewhere.
I thought they had said something that made me think overuse of the cancel/relist thing was a problem now.

Not really any rules. Sometimes I troll the AH by undercutting stuff by fifty percent or more just to know I made someone angry trying to sell a glyph for three thousand gold lol

But serious …
I have a auction addon that is real simple.
Shows all auctions for that item. Who is selling it , how many for how much.
I deside what price and if I sell more later it has a icon for the last price active.
So if I sold a item than thanked them with a I’m in game mail.
Gift mind you and a request for any items they want or to sell them cod .
That would be cool…

The only rule is that you are not using software which automates it without you needing to be at the keyboard.

If the add on needs you to press a key/series of keys, to delist/relist, then it is fine.

Legit people might be doing this, while playing another account or even watching TV/whatever, letting you think they might be a “bot.”

Blizzard can tell if they are botting, but if they are then they don’t “tip their hand” since they usually ban all bots at once so the players/bot program maker don’t get wise.

I’ve seen some gold goblins mention in the past of being actioned, that didn’t read as a report by someone but more as Blizz seeing them abusing the economy/ah. Don’t remember 110%… so take it with a grain of salt but the assumption was that they have something or had something in place that could trigger if you crossed a certain threshold per se.

Made 21k gold so far, thanks.

Yes I’m sure if you do a search for a blue post you would find that conversation.
The one UI auction addon as a error box pop up tell you that the desktop addon is not installed. This is a outside wow desktop program. It talks to a server that reports info about prices and trends. It must skirt by like the talking program that can share privet of group cams and mikes.
This I do not do…

Remember the rule # 1
Have fun relax enjoy and buy my Auctions, please.

I do… while I’m playing in my main account and cancel scanning between dungeons.

I have zero idea what your reply has to do with what I wrote, lol

The only AH rule I know of is “I gotta get mine before you get yours”.
