I have multiple toons with the AH rings (Versatile Solenium Ring and Quick Oxxen etc.) I dont know if the rings are bugged but I am unable to socket them with shift+click , its definitely not my keybaord/mouse - perhaps an addon? Anyone else having this issue?
Most likely. Try doing a Full UI Reset first.

You have to hold shift and right-click, not left-click, to open the interface to add a gem to a socketed item.
I did a deep dive and it turns out resetting keybinds back to default fixed the issue- apparently addons can sometimes mess with the shift+click functionality…
