There’s a character posting items like herbs, leather and other mats for far under value - heavy desolate leather for 12g instead of 35 which is the next highest price, always 1 item only. I’ve been buying them out immediately and send him the item (with C.O.D. covering my expenses) and tell him that he can charge a lot more for his stuff if he’d check the prices. So far he hasn’t replied 
. I’m just trying to help him!

Only thing I can think of is that he’s trying to trick people using AH addons to put more items at a lower price so he can buy them up and resell them for profit.

He’s trying to get other people to list that low and not notice probably. Happens on my server sometimes. I always just buy the 1 unit of whatever it is and then relist along with mine

If it was just one item, assuming it was a simple mistake is reasonable, but if he’s doing it repeatedly, he’s most definitely trying to fleece others.

I do this kind of thing all the time, i don’t have the time or patience to be undercutting by a few gold only to have someone else undercut it 2 seconds later so that i can relist 10 times over the course of a week. I’d rather brutally undercut to 100% ensure that someone will purchase my item so that they can go through the hassle of relisting for profit. Honestly, if something doesn’t sell after being listed a few times, i’ll just vendor it because i can’t be bothered with the AH game anymore.

Stop trolling people because they choose not to post for the overinflated prices you think the items are worth.
If you send back my reasonably priced mats COD, That mail will sit there for the full 30 days before being returned to you as I will never open it.

Or he is trying to quickly sell his one leather or one herb that he got from say the queen’s conservatory . I have posted many single herbs and ores as I don’t need them and they come out of my queens conservatory sacks.
Oh and 35g for heavy desolate leather ? that’s like 30 gold too high at the minimum.

I used to do this until I decided AH was a joke. Part of the reason was as you stated and the other was honest to goodness altruism.
When I got serious on AH for all of a hot minute 6 month span. I remembered when I had a hard time making gold to buy anything. So, I looked at price and halved it; mostly mats, but other stuff. Then I realized people were buying it to sell it higher. Now I just go to a vendor. AH idjits against a normal and reasonable effort to reward, blech

Dont fall for it…keep buying his and listing at YOUR price…he’ll get tired and move on soon enough
