Aggro Range Indicator

Hi there - for key stones, I would love a way to implement what a mob’s aggro range is. Either via a translucent circle around (sort of like CoT) or anything. I don’t want it very loud so it crowds the map but something very minor ( almost like the red circle under them when you target them). something like that.

or perhaps it’s only visible of their range when you target them with those red circles underneath.

thank you!

Nah. Die, learn, adapt.

With the exception of a very few mobs, mobs have a universal range based on their hit box

how does that hit box translate to range? hit box to whom?

It doesnt. Its X < insert unit of measurement > from the edge of the hit box.

Anything that crosses that boundary triggers aggro

yea that doesn’t really help unless we can see something that shows their hit box

It does. Go inch up to a mob until it aggros you. Note the distance. Apply to 98% of mobs inside WoW

it’s not true. and definitely not for 98% of mobs. im talking specifically in keys. they have a much higher range and drastically varies from mob to mob

They dont

It doesnt.

Again you can go test this for yourself by entering any mythic dungeon and trying it with a bunch of different trash mobs

just checked and some mobs have a lot of range and while others small ads have regular hit box range… this is too much of variance to do every single mob difference. so just “test and try” it’s not as easy.

Uh…huh…

Because the first mobs in Mists and the Scarabs in CoT have the EXACT same same aggro range.

Mobs from 2 different dungeons, 2 different expansions, and 2 different types match up. But conveniently the first 2 movs you tried had a world of variance

Is this really a good idea to add?

I can see a nightmare scenario where you’re a lowbie in a high-level zone, where your aggro radius is measurable in light-years, and the ground is nothing but aggro radii of darn near every hostile mob in the zone.

You can’t draw on the game world since 2010. It’s something Blizzard would have to add.
