I’ve started up the Blizzard launcher 3 times since late Friday or early Saturday, and all 3 times my bandwidth has been flooded by Agent.exe for several minutes which makes logging into the game take extra long and makes other things laggy. None of those times has the launcher showed what it was downloading; no game updates or any other visible thing. Is this going be happening every time now?
Well it’s obviously trying to do something. It might be trying to update the launcher itself. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I don’t think it shows up in the download icon toward the top right when it’s doing so.
Thank you for eloquently re-stating what I said. I was hoping for an answer like “yes we’re going to flood your bandwidth more but not tell you why” or “the launcher is doing this ______”. This time it behaved normally which is more of an answer.
Yeah, but you only stated “no game updates or any other visible thing,” which is why I brought up that the launcher itself might be updating and then explained that I don’t think it shows up in the download bucket icon thing that the game downloads show up under.
I mean they don’t technically even have to show anything, it’s more of a nice-to-have feature. Realistically, the launcher should show up under the download bucket as well (Maybe it does and I’ve just never noticed it? I’ll have to pay more attention)
Good, means it probably did its update then.
there is a setting that makes the launcher close when the game is running . it may stop the Agent.exe from running all the time or use Wow.exe to bypass the launcher . i only use the launcher when and if theres an update to the game
