what exactly is wrong with discord?
Lol saying dumb stuff like that makes people think you’re a clicker. Probably do play wow like a little kid. 
So saying you would kick someone from discord makes said player a clicker, okay that makes perfect sense 
Ha. WoW’s voice chat is functional, but Discord’s quality is objectively better, even without including Nitro bitrates.
It’s a bit more than that. Habit plays a role, but if you’re using Discord anyway, why would you also use WoW’s voip? Especially given that Discord is more stable, doesn’t require any level of reliance on in-game conditions, and puts control into the server owner’s hands which is useful in raids.

From a raid leader of typically casual players perspective, I find the attitude of not joining Discord toxic. It gives the impression that you’re too good to join with the rest of us noobs. It’s an inherent lack of respect for those running the raid. In any case, if you’re that good, lead your own raid where discord isn’t required. In fact, run a raid where there will absolutely be no voice at all and anyone who asks gets kicked. It’s sure to attract other elitist snobs like yourself which means you’ll get it done quick.
The only toxicity I’m seeing is entitlement.
If the people forming the group set discord as a requirement and your shocked that you got removed for not following the requirements then maybe you need to take another look in the mirror and re-examine yourself.
It’s not a skill issue, but I find it funny that you’re trying to turn it into a skill issue. You having done it on five characters without discord has literally nothing to do with the issue at hand. It’s just a sad attempt at a humble brag to try and distract from the fact that you could not follow simple rules.
The only toxicity here is you and your self entitlement.

The in game voice chat works great… until there is any kind of loading screen involved, and then it kicks you out of voice and you have to rejoin it. It’s annoying to that end, and people usually enjoy seamless interfacing with their game and chat.
What is this sudden need to cancel outside voice coms? They have been around before WoW existed ya know, remember Pow Wow?

Oh I remember Mumble, It was garbo, Absolutely hated it.
A year ago I found a group that Insisted I join their mumble server for a raid, I was like ‘uhhh A how is this still a thing and B I’m not reinstalling mumble, I’ll dip out’ And the raid leader got real angry over me backing off and leaving because apparently discord was this massive security risk.
Exactly this, Honestly 99% of the forums issues can be solved with the following phrase.
“START YOUR OWN GROUP”

Ventrillo is dirt cheap to host, you can make your own host, and is extremely lean on system consumption- a huge part of why it took off in the first place. Voice quality is also quite nice, consumer equipment withstanding.
Also worth mentioning that Flagship Industries, Ventrillo’s owner, makes less than 5 million USD a year. If I had to guess it’s some guy’s- or a small team of guys- pet project.
There is always a power monger that gets off on running it’s mouth telling what to do. Those it’s go on my ignore list.
I dont think the younger onea realize yet that they cant bully and force others to do what they like just because they did it to xx number ppl. Everyone can play a game how THEY want. Its for THEIR enjoyment, not yours. Just move on. Humans suck anyway. My potato cant run more than one program at a time anyway.
That’s still infinitely more expensive compared to free.
we are in the era of 16 core 32 thread Monsters, Where the average rig has more power Per core than whole CPU’s had combined back then, If System consumption is a concern then maybe it’s time to acquire something newer than a Core 2 duo at this point.

100% you are the toxic player. An entire group of players who are totally okay with using discord but you sit on a boat by yourself and refuse to do it. Then you get kicked and blame everyone else and post on forums about how good you are and how toxic they are. This is a pure representation of you in your outside life as well I guarantee it. Look in the mirror for a long time.

I had a discord group with over 1k members and it got banned with zero warning because someone reported it for selling drugs. Total lie.
I couldn’t even appeal and there was zero investigation. Just banned my account and deleted the group based on one false report.
I absolutely refuse to use discord.
This so much.
If a product is free, it’s actually not, you’re the product. Companies like Discord sell your private data.
