After Wow, What is the Next Best MMORPG?

After Wow, What is the Next Best MMORPG? To go to, if you gotta go to another game? For whatever reason?

PS: Some peoples replies indicate that Wow is no longer the Best mmorpg. So you can give your opinion as to which mmorpg is the best at this time.

Right now I have really high hopes for Riot’s MMO. But for the time being… I’m not really playing another MMORPG besides WoW. I have been having fun with some Dead by Daylight though.

I rank XIV just above WoW Classic and rank WoW Retail somewhere much lower tbqh. Just my opinion though.

That would be Wildstar

WoW is probably the 4th best MMORPG, after it would come… I think ESO.

But also the most accessible, hence why it has a slightly bigger playerbase. Kinda like how Fortnite is a bigger Battle Royale game than PUBG. Not because Fortnite is better, but because it is more accessible, easier to get into.

MMOs are dead

What mmorpg could possibly be worse than WoW? Ah yes. Life…

/s because some people won’t get im joking here

Probably SWTOR for the class stories and it’s free up to level 60 (I think). I’m also waiting for Ashes of Creation. While it may be (world?) PVP, I’m thinking it may be factionless (or create your own faction). As I understand it, the ‘realms’ build from the ground up so no two are likely to be alike.

I think OSRS without a doubt, and it could be better than WoW

After FF14, WoW is the next best MMORPG.

I have a tough time moving on. I’ve only tried out a few other MMOs, but every one makes me miss how smooth WoW is.

SWTOR felt like a poor WoW clone, gameplay wise. I really love the stories (and Star Wars lore) and would like to complete all class stories someday. But everytime I boot it up, I want to go back to WoW. The same goes for ESO.

I played the Palia alpha, which is why I started playing WoW again about a month ago. It just made me miss WoW after being out for like 3 years.

I played DAoC before WoW, and can’t imagine wanting to go back to it now at this day in age.

I haven’t tried Amazon’s MMO.

I also never tried FF, but I have heard about some features of it. Since I can’t seem to find a better MMO, I hope WoW steals things from them like the farm island and housing. I’d love some casual time/money sinks like that instead of just raiding.

If you get to rank 10 on your island, you can buy a famer’s glam with these sweet, jean, short shorts lol:

Personally, ESO is my go-to when I’m tired of WoW. It’s a good break, because it’s a lot different – action combat, horizontal progression, so much account-bound progress – but still gives me the group play I crave.

I really, really dislike FFXIV. The solo play is excruciatingly slow and grindy, the stories and cutscenes are painfully anime-esque (and no offense to anyone who likes it, but that’s really not my taste), and I’d rather gouge out my eyes than play through all that necessary story bullhockey. And no, I’m not going to pay the company for the pleasure of skipping unskippable cutscenes.

I, too, really hope Riot’s MMO turns out to be great. I am not holding my breath for anything in-development though. Learned my lesson there over the last decade.

Did you like it? I played for an hour or two but it just felt like a buggy version of My Time At Portia/Sandrock. I know it’s just an alpha so it’s chill about the bugs but I guess I mean, it didn’t feel like it was bringing anything new to the table.

The only 2 MMOs that have pulled me out of WoW and kept me out for months at a time were,
Age of Conan (best starting zones ever)
Warhammer (best PvP until the devs got all Mage drunk and destroyed it)

Everything else is a one and done kind of deal, sadly.

There’s literally only one area of the game with cutscenes that can’t be skipped lol.
