I’m here to share my realization on the biggest issue One Button Rotation is going to present.
Sure, it will make WoW more accessible. This feature does seem like I will benefit those without the finger dexterity to play well.
It will give RPers an avenue to focus on what they enjoy rather than having to learn a rotation they only use because they have to.
On the surface this seems like it might be a good thing more than a bad thing. I don’t deny that.
BUT, it is going to introduce one of the biggest trolling problems we have seen in game in a while.
This One Button Rotation feature isn’t going to be viable in keys. Especially higher keys where min maxing or doing a proper rotation while working mechanics and knowing when to use Defensives is the name of the game.
Now trolls can get a character IO up, get some gear, the things Raider let’s us vet pre invite. Then absolutely troll someone’s key just because they can…
And we should all know if it can be done it will be done. So, how long until this “for the greater good” just undoes all the work you did this season trying to bring M+ to a healthy place.
What is stopping such a person from just playing lazily now?

It’s possible that this one-button thing will significantly improve some people’s dps. If it does 80% as much dps, awesome. Currently in keys 3m is pretty average in brewery and priory but I regularly see people doing 2m or less in those keys, even in 10+. But top players are getting 5m or 6m in these keys. If they do even 50% as much damage as pros in M+, they will be doing better than a lot of people currently are.

Only thing I’m worried about is bots.
Especially because the biggest barrier to botting is usually automation programs.
Now anybody with a drinking/dunking bird, some tape, and a keyboard can effectively automate WoW tasks like AoE farming, lol.

Addons already exist that do this behavior. Not that you need anything more than 1 button to farm.
Most bots are caught through their automation software- Blizzard has tools to detect them and ban them.
It’s less of an addon and more of a program/script.
But now, well I’m not so sure since it’s through WoW itself.
I don’t know. I was running my druid through keys just to get used to Guardian again as an old resto player. There was a DH doing half of MY damage. I kind wish he would of been using this one button thing. 
In all seriousness though, I find this whole thing ridiculous. I don’t know what Blizzard’s goal is but this just seems like the weirdest thing to do. Do other MMO’s do this? Are they just trying to have a shiny new thing to claim? What is the purpose, honestly.
I think they see the amount of people already using these rotation assist addons and figure they should just add it baseline.

The base addon makes sense. They are trying to mimic Hekili. They even mention the addon by name in the interview. But they are taking it a step further and baking in a One Button Rotation along with their version of Hekili.
If they actually tried to spend a day thinking, smoke would come out of their ears.
The people that would benefit from this (optional) system are not doing keys anyway, so it’s irrelevant.

I don’t think the one button rotation thing is going to be as prevalent in m+ or mythic raiding as some people are saying. In the interview ion stated that it really is for super casuals and also those who are learning rotations. Having that global cool down debuff seems like a good deterrent to use in any high level play
And delves were supposed to be for solo players.
WoW players actively look for things to take advantage of and it’s easy to see how this new feature is going to be taken advantage of.
Tbh sometimes in keys now i have the feeling their using heikili lol.
i know when im first on the dmg meter in a group with an uh dk and boomy theres something going on lmao

Do we really want the average wow player to be dumber and lazier than they already are?
Do you know you can do that one button rotation with Hekili? Also tested that one Button rotation on PTR, a bit could literally do more DPS, no serious player will use it.
