I hit level 40 on Saturday and I have enjoyed the journey . I mainly achieve it through questing and AoE farm in dungeons and open world. I am 225 Taylor and 200+ enchanter but I don’t have enough gold to buy my mount, I am at 70G right now. Other mages have recommended me to farm basilisk to achieve the 100G goal.
My last 3 hours of playtime have been killing strange lizards in SV which drop nice Grey items. But in the inmersion of my hunting and after losing a lot of time vs a warlock who only use fear, dot, fear wand and his pet, regarding of my best efforts as a mage… A question have appeared… Why to continue playing Classic? Is it worth it?
And my answer is I am done with classic. I join because it was supposed to be a challenge and at the start it was true, your white items makes you weak but after adquiring some greens the world becomes less dangerous. At the point at lvl 40 I can take up to 12 mobs without dying. In my concept the current wow is more challenging. Jusst compare the Deadmines dungeon in retail and classic, the only hard thing in classic is you run out of mana after each pull… It makes the combat very slow and you can take up to 2 hours. The bosses in the retail version actually have mechanics that hurt a lot if you don’t have heirlooms. Another example is Scarlet Monastery, you died because of mechanics not because of an slow combat system… At the beggining it was fun, but after using the same formula every level it is boring and time consuming. My concept is classic was supposed to be hard because when wow hits the market back in 2004 it was new, people dn’t know how to counter, but after 15 years you realize that the challenge is only a memory. People can clear the hardest content in cuestion of hours and it is just because wow classic is easy, much more simple than retail and the only challenge is the resist mechanic if the mob is over your level.
