Gotta give feedback, cause Blizzard, you ALMOST had it. But there’s definitely issues with this patch.
the Good:
Beautiful Zone. Once again The art team NAILED it.
DRIVE is kinda fun (though a couple tweaks)
Shipping and Handling has a GTA vibe to it, down for that.
I actually really enjoy the two new Delves.
Lots of things to kill, from rares to mini bosses. always seem that there’s something up.
Reasonably small zone that doesn’t feel like it’s wasting too much time just travelling (with some caveats)
A Good amount of content to do.
The Bad:
Side Quest chains are a good few too many quests long. Doing this Gallagio quest chain and It just won’t bloody end. Back and forth a dozen times around undermine for almost zero reward. Feels like a lot of the side quests are purely time wasters.
the mix of Renown and old school Reputation is bad and slow. there’s almost no rewards in the renown track accessible at this point, and most of it is gated behind regular reputation grinds of the factions. Plus putting the quartermasters rnadomly throughout the zone with NO map marker is frustrating.
DRIVE should allow us to rebind drifting off the jump button. I don’t want to jump. I want to drift, I’m tired of not drifting and just jumping instead because I didn’t turn my character exactly a minimum amount.
The Ugly:
Bugs, Bugs, Bugs. In my 20 years playing this game, 11.1 has been one of the most unbalanced and buggiest patches I can recall.
Rep you can get in a single week is capped too low given the old school reputation grind through the tiers. only getting Rep on a single character for the quests/world quests and the low currency rewards feels like Shadowlands grinding all over again.
Underpin is truly a garbage fight. I thought Zekvir was horribly designed, but Underpin is now probably the worst designed fight in the game. Especially given the massive imbalance in classes and abilities. This should never ever have been released.
Bugs, Bugs, did I mention Bugs? I cannot seem to get credit for the world boss in undermine when I kill him. I even got new boots dropped from him, yet no credit for the weekly world quest registered. This has now happend 3 weeks in a row.
150 jobs needed for the chest is ridiculous. So far I’ve not managed to get a single one 3 weeks no matter how many jobs I do. I won’t do 150 of them. That’s crazy and nonsense grind.
SCRAP Pile mechanics themselves are really REALLY annoying. Completely undoable in small / solo groups because of the non-stop aggro, knock backs and movement. The average digging time per dig is 2-3 seconds before you’re interrupted, hit with green globs, or attacked by enemies. Doing them solo is near impossible.
I want to spend more time in Undermine, But I cannot help but get frustrated with much of the “bad” and “ugly”. there are many parts of the grind in UNdermine that feel on-par with the horrible grind required in Shadowlands. Having things like Delvers bounty weekly capped, caps on valorstones, only able to get 1 faction reps a week (and doing most of your weeklys/dailies won’t even get you to honoured, that takes 2 weeks)
I really REALLY hope we see some massive fixes, Bug fixes, and grind nerfs in the upcoming week. As is I’m already to the point I just don’t want to come back to undermine when it takes more than a few weeks just to jump 1 or 2 rep levels for rewards that are not really worth 2 weeks+ time.
Overall. Excellent ideas in Undermine. Some excellent concepts and game play ideas. All though seem completely let down by development that just doesn’t seem to know what “Fun” is, or, not properly tested features/mechanics that cause the game to get in your way.
I’m not really playing it. I really liked Delves at first but was crushingly disappointed by my level 50 brann after all the nerfs. All I’m doing now is leveling crafting and gathering resources. We are doing a normal raid once a week.
I like the goblin aesthetic so the vibe of the zone is pretty cool. Oddly though it feels empty? I think it has to do with the ceiling of the zone being so bare…maybe.
I got bored with it.
I don’t care about the racing cars and I’m tired of trying to chase rares down all the time (in every new freaking zone they add) hoping I reach them before others kill it. 2/10 playing wise and 7.5/10 for the art.
This is easily one of the worst .1 patches to date. The only notable improvement is the increased town density, but aside from that, it’s a pretty disappointing update. There’s an overwhelming focus on driving, which is not only frustrating but also incredibly dull. The lag, bugs, and general issues are unacceptable. The main content revolves around an endless grind for reputation—more reputation, and even more reputation in the raids. Speaking of raids, the new one is mediocre at best. It’s filled with too much trash, and the loot tables and drop rates per boss are still awful. They’ve added a painful rep grind to the raid but haven’t bothered improving the gearing system, which still relies on going 8/8 and walking away with nothing. There’s nothing new here—just more time gating and grinding. Gearing is still a nightmare due to RNG, and the continued reliance on the weekly disappointment vault remains the worst feature of the game. Delves are as boring as ever. Brann’s recent nerfs have been especially damaging for some solo classes, leading to atrocious completion times, and the ongoing problem of duplicate loot and excessive trinkets continues to plague delves. Honestly, there’s nothing of value here. TWW just continues the trend of rinse-and-repeat, lackluster post-expansion content
Not a fan of Blundermine. Will minimally participate (WB, LFR) and once through campaign to get the raid quest for the runed crest. Don’t like the city delve. Changes to delves are fine so far, haven’t had time to push beyond T9. Kinds sucks there’s no catchup for the 60 gilded crests I lost. Hopefully 11.1.5 has better content.
Yeah. I can see what they were aiming for with DRIVE, but holy cow was this a terrible zone to implement it in.
Overall, the patch is much better than I expected. From the previews I expected to dislike everything about it, but I’m actually enjoying the aesthetic and all the humor (even though much of it falls flat.)
DRIVE though… that’s exactly as bad as I predicted. Like I said before, I can see what they were going for, but oh boy it does NOT work. Especially in this small, tightly packed zone.
I kind of feel like Undermine is the Siren Isle/Z-Cavern… this moves a bit faster, with the ‘car’ and all. Dark, dirty, 1920’s mafia feel/music. It has it’s fun stuff. I can take it for a bit, and then mostly like the above more ‘lighted’ world.
I have run into a rift…
I play a bunch of alts. Took a ‘misc’ alt first for this week, I chose/signed cartel contract (this alt not having been there?) … then my alt did a bunch of ‘rares’ and the World Boss, did a Delve and left.
Then, I brought my ‘main’ with many ‘open quests’ from last week including the ‘sign a contract’. I went to the IC-HOTEL and no one but the ‘Concierge’ was there? NO one… it’s like it got suwatted? or something? Anyone know what happened?
i am one that likes to get most my alts through a new area, but i wont with undermine to me is messy and awful so i been playing classic hm which is way more fun
Love:
The cityscape, always love big cities that feel alive, need more of these for all zones/expansions
The music and overall tone of the zone
The aesthetic and the wide variety of things you interact with
Driving the car is fun at normal/slow speed, jumping off walls and over buildings, rarely get dismounted, if ever
The amount of rares to farm each day
The mounts and mogs are cool, although I’ll be focusing more on Darkfuse, the others are a little more…brightly colored than I prefer.
Loved all of the quests and don’t really dislike any of the dailies/weeklies
Love the Sluice delve, the other one is just ok
Dislikes
Having to bring a bunch of alts to do the Chett rep farming, had only planned to bring one or two alts, now I have to bring a bunch so I can get the cartel farming done faster
The car’s jump and drift being the same button, takes away from the fun a bit when I want to drift and jump or want to jump and drift, lol.
The lag
Having to do the raid over and over so I can get the rep to eventually get that T rex mount I HAVE to have. I am not usually a raid person, but I will for this, just wish I didn’t have to.
The occasional bugs that mess me up, or worse, kick me out of the game
Overall love the zone and hope we get more citiescapes like this in the future that are so lively and fun.
I finally did the Surge Pricing thing and got a purple chest that had less valorstones than a world quest and not much else in it. Doesn’t seem worth it at all I might never do it again.
Drive could have had some fun alternate game modes via the street racing, like racing other players in a side illegal street? Maybe mobster street fights where you machine gun down the baddie goblin dudes while driving? But nooooo what does Padgarre know!
Also haven’t done any real rep grinding there every week and won’t maybe until I have the motivation for a mount. I’m not and never have been a huge fan of grinding rep every week but I’ve done it quite a few times each expansion.
Love to see alternate style Delves. Maybe Story Delves that don’t have 11 tiers? Puzzle Delves with a few tiers that reward cosmetic stuff randomly (think the revolving staircase painting but revolving/moving tunnels maze with mobs? )? Maybe everyone only wants gear from this but it wasn’t designed with top end gear oriented players in mind it was designed for world players. These players love collecting, exploring, nostalgia, pet battles, puzzles, and more right (think old scenarios, Archaeology tying into the Wordsoul Saga story, Timeways with Chromie but maybe a new character, and well you’re creative get crazy)? Not everything has to be a minidungeon. And not all of them need trash and a boss either. Get more creative! You can do it!
Delves can be even better than they are! Exploration/Story Delves, Puzzle Delves, Profession Delves? Come on man at least try some experimental ideas with some out!
