Sometimes, I have to craft 1100 inks. I can’t do anything else in the game while that is happening so I minimize to go do something else. But before the craft can finish, I get kicked out of the game for being AFK. Is there a setting for this or??? Thanks for the help!
Well if u lose track of time and it stops crafting u will automaticly get kicked out eventualy dont think theres a way to bypass that.
That part I would be fine with. What sucks is to come back and find that I still have 500 more inks to craft because it didn’t finish before it kicked me.
Simply put, if you don’t want to be booted for going AFK, don’t go AFK. The system seems to be working exactly as intended.
Lol yeah flame it up.
It seems maybe I wasn’t completely clear in my question. Is there a setting I’m missing? Because I would think I should be able to complete a crafting operation without being kicked from the game for being AFK.
There isnt a setting the game is built so that it kicks players out after a certain time of doing nothing.
Well
I really wish they would bring mass ink production to the game then because mass milling has led to a lotta ink being made. haha
Please remove ur curse as for ur suggestion either use the ingame feature or post in the professions forums.
I didn’t curse. I actually typed in four stars. Have a nice night. lol
I seem to remember getting afk booted faster if I was tabbed out. But that was years ago at this point.
I’m sorry if you thought I was ‘flaming’ you, that was not my intent. I just don’t tend to sugarcoat my responses.
To me, it would seem counterproductive to apply a mechanic to remove an AFK player, but allow the player to determine how much inactivity warrants removal.
My sincere advice would be to not go AFK while crafting, or to at least check in every couple minutes to remove the AFK flag.

What I do is craft it in smaller batches, and not necessarily all at once. I craft 100 at a time. I come back to the game a little more often. I move my character either forwards or backwards one step. Rinse and repeat. A little more fiddly but I don’t AFK out. I do the same when crafting bolts of cloth or smelting ghost iron ore.

That’s my point though. Even if I sit there the entire time looking at the screen, any movement to stop AFK from happening also stops the crafting process. It just doesn’t make sense to me that this happens. It’s all good though. Point taken. Have a good day.
As long as WoW is your active window, just move your mouse over it every ten minutes or so while crafting. It won’t kick you. It registers mouse movement within the client as being active.
When I’m doing crafting like that and walk away, I’ll just bump the mouse while passing by my desk. Thirty minute crafting is not something I plan to get interrupted. Shame old crafting doesn’t get a faster crafting enchant.

That cast bar for each item is your buyers remorse cancel window in case you make a mistake. That’s why it is never sped up.
Its been a while since I tried so things might have changed or I’m thinking of something else entirely, but I recall that tapping the A and D keys to turn a little to the left or right while crafting massive amounts of something (like ink) would cancel the AFK flag without breaking the cast.
You might give that a shot every 5ish minutes when you need to bulk up on your supply again.

I just tested this. It still works.
Been like that for a long time.
I usually craft 500, hit the space bar to jump my character, and then do 500 more.
Ah, memories. I recall looking in my tailor’s reagent bank and seeing he was able to make 2000 bolts of netherweave cloth. Good times.
Here’s what I found that helped me literally seconds ago, from a reply down the thread you can press either, A or D key and you won’t go afk. Now obviously you don’t want to hold it for an hour. Put about 10 nickles on either key, and there you go. However you probably wont be able to do anything but it’s still a solution.
