Are affliction warlocks really powerful solo classes? I just watched a level 25 warlock kill a level 40 regular mob.
Or maybe they just had really good gear?

Yes, Dark Harvest is currently busted.
Edit: also yes, afflic locks are great solo.
Affliction is eating almost as good as TBC S1/SL Affliction era.
All specs are fine solo.
Destro is the best solo.
Aff is the worst solo.
Demo is just garbage in general.
Aff and Demo both take too long to set up, when other classes or specs can just insta kill mobs, you’re still sitting there winding up to do the same amount of damage 30 seconds later.
Is that even possible? With scaling in the game, level 25s don’t go up against level 40s unless it’s PvP.
So, I’m pressing x for doubt here.
I don’t know what to tell you. I just witnessed it in Ohn Aran plains. Also, a level 32 rogue taking down level 40 mobs. Consistently, with very low health loss.
Are you level 40? The mobs scale to the viewpoint of the observer, so the level 25 person would see level 25 mobs and the level 32 person would see level 32 mobs while a level 40 would see a level 40 mob
My personal take:
I find my Affliction 'lock is very survivable solo with the voidwalker.
Yes, I do sometimes pull agro, but the class is actually tanky enough to survive that.
It is slower to kill things, but not by a lot. Definitely a good solo class IMO.
Oh and Spicygarlic is right about the world mob scaling; that can be confusing.
You’d only solo level aff lock if you really like aff lock.
Oh!!! This scaling thing is still kinda confusing. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
DOT based class are so boring and I can’t bare it.
Yea, they needed an engineering solution for people outleveling content quickly. The solution was just to make content scale to your level instead of letting it sit in a specific 1-2 level range.
