actually so miserable playing this week. Why on earth does afflicted spawn MORE than incorporeal? I can’t wait for blizz to realize how affixes make the game worse.

Did they tune up their hp a bunch? I used to be able to PWL one and dispel the other when my groupmates were new.

Used to 1 shot them with a Riptide last season, now they take an actual heal cast to get rid of.
Either way, its a trash affix that most DPS cant assist with, and that makes it more healer stress.

Get yourself a good prot paladin or guardian druid to protect you from the spooky ghosts. Also nerf vengeance dh again plz and ty.
Afflicted will always feel miserable if:
- You expect the healer to handle the mechanic on their own.
- The party leader, for unfathomable reasons, decides to run a group where 4/5 of its members cannot dispel.
- The DPS are too braindead to spec into a dispel or who think their DPS is so important that they can’t spare a single GCD to dispel.
- The entire party has the situational and spatial awareness of a brick.
- The healer doesn’t dispel because of point four.
Afflicted is a non-issue if people do their jobs properly.

I try my best to inspect talents before the key drops.
I first read that as affliction and thought you were talking about the spec until I read further and realized I misread, and it was about the affix. Funny thing is that either way your post makes sense lol.

Can still PWL/Dispel. Sometimes it’s hard to have the free GCD when there’s wild damage going out and someone else needs to get one though, maybe that’s what OP was getting at?
I’m assuming they were doing a +9ish and either failed to handle Afflicted, or couldn’t and no one else did. Dunno. All they did was complain about it.
raging/fort is way more problematic

Afflicted cuts out the classes for the week because they can’t deal with it or your group becomes weaker when you invite a class like Warrior. Afflicted and raging are problematic affixes but not as big as bolstering and sanguine. Afflicted and raging forced you to play the affixes before the key starts.
Blizzard is trying to avoid ‘passenger’ affixes but afflicted and raging are 100% ‘passenger’ affixes. These affixes need to be looked at for the next expansion while bolstering and sanguine should be completely deleted.
I also noticed I can’t do this anymore.

Imagine having to spec into dispel and using it.
Don’t see the issue with afflicted. it’s a “pay attention” affix. Like 3 went off on a 16, it’s fine.
It’s not a pay attention affix, it’s a ‘passenger’ affix because it ranges in difficulty depending solely on your class composition with a large punishment for failure. Shaman is the best class for afflicted affixes. But Shaman is in a very rough spot for M+ for a lot of good reasons.
Raging also blows. Most affixes blow

in theory you bring a soothe or two and soothe mobs with extremely dangerous casts that require cc. some strategy
in practice you bring an evoker and pray they know how/when to oppressing roar
