Afflicted: DPS Comps

Which DPS specs are best/worst for this affix?

This affix has nothing to do with DPS. It’s a healer affix, meant to replace the previous healer affix “grievous.”

Either the healer dispells the mob or they heal the mob. The end.

Any spec that can decurse or off-heal would be useful, like ret paladin can take cleanse toxins and has multiple healing spells.

But as has been said, I think the affix is primarily designed to challenge healers.

Several DPS specs can help. I’m looking to find out which.

All the classes with healer offspecs and then mage. So Druid/Evoker/Mage/Paladin/Priest/Shaman. I would assume Evoker can dispel both with Naturalize and Cauterizing Flame albeit the latter is a minute cd.

Anyone with a cure poison, disease, or curse can trivialize the affix as dispelling any one of those will resolve it. That means any class who has a healing spec can do it (paladin, monk, shaman, druid, evoker). Mages can also remove curse. Everyone else literally can’t even lay a finger on it. At least with grievous, they could at least use self heals and defensive to assist the healer.

Evokers have an eight second cooldown Poison removal and a one minute Blued, Poison, Curse, and Disease removal, as well as an area of effect de-enrage for Raging - although it is on a two minute cooldown; Evokers will be great this week in Mythic Keystone dungeons.

Devokers all day

You’re not though. Your post history clearly indicates you already have more than enough experience to know the answer.

What you wanted was a discussion about why this affix favors some DPS classes over others, and it doesnt.

Hybrids / mages / whoever - they should not be doing this affix. It’s a healer affix.

All monks can too

I know who NOT to take to my keys…

Hey man, you’re free not to invite. I’m not the guy saying “only healers do explosives.” This is not explosives.

We lost 3 affixes:
Grievous - a healer affix - replaced by Afflicted
Quaking - a forced movement mechanic - replaced by Entangling
Explosive - a DPS affix - replaced by Incorporeal

It’s just how it is. If you want your Ret paladins cleansing poison off ghosts they’re not going to take their blinding light. etc etc.

It’s a matter of globals. If it takes 3 globals to full heal the affix it is more efficient to have the monk tank use Detox and just instantly clear it especially if it is going to cost healer resources like Verdant Embrace, Swiftmend, PWave, etc.

This affix is LESS of a damage loss for dps to deal with than Incorporeal since most outs to the latter had cast times.

If you are a Mage on the last boss of Neltharus do you just refuse to decurse people because “lul just heal it bro”?

Which healer doesn’t have an instant cast dispel again?

…you do know 2 can spawn right?

There must be a way this can offend me!

Then they have their answer.

Except 2 adds spawn

Healers get 1 dispell with an 8 second CD

Healing them isn’t easy, requiring me to use both Nature’s Swiftness and Swiftmend

Higher keys can’t have healers waste big heals like that on not the tank

Need 1 person with a cleanse to immediately get rid of 2nd add

Sure you can’t make a healers life a lot harder, but no thank you.

Yes, I agree with you, it is useful for 1 other person to help the healer for times when two spawn, or when other dispels are required by the pull.

I feel like you are completely missing what this thread is actually about:

OP already knew what classes can dispel. OP has an MO of complaining about class X or Y being un-inevitable for lacking Z utility. Thats what this thread is predicating.

its an everyone affix
takes me 2 regrowths to top them.
in boomy

pala, monk, druid, priest, shaman, evoker are all good
