Im playing aff atm on beta and from the get go its pumping 3 x harder than my rogue lol in similar gear.

Hope it isn’t nerfed… I LOVE affliction. It’s my fav spec ahead of Destro then Demo is a far far 3rd.

I miss playing my baby, my favourite spec in this game, the only spec I played consistently since MoP (yeah, I’m new-ish meat). He feels dirty AF as Demo and Destro, Aff is where he belongs. Here’s hoping the rework and bring back Legion Afflock - The AoE King!
Nothing is balanced. So saying something is OP is a waste of time right now

Affliction is actually pretty bad if you dont count malefic rupture. Dots are weak as.
However, when you add in malefic rupture our damage skyrockets and we are suddenly doing OP amounts of ST and AOE damage.
It’s somewhat kept at bay due to very poor shard generation, but overall Aff is really strong now. If they nerf rupture though we’ll be in a world of pain.

Affliction is on par with other classes on tbe beta. What you’re noticing is that Affliction doesn’t suck, not that it’s OP. You only have so many shards to burst with.
As long as you are shard sniping with drain and UE its fine
They really need to lower Rapture damage a bit and give that damage back to dots themself. The way aff plays is pretty great but it doesn’t feel like aff if that makes sense.

Just curious here but I havent played aff in a long time. What are you guys using for talents? Right now im 3.2.1.3.1.2.3? Any suggestions? And as far as rotation I am just casting haunt>aff>UA>CoA>Drain Life for single target . haven’t tried multitarget yet but I am was SoC>VT>Rapture?
Tuning hasnt happened yet why are we doing this?
In my experience (of being in every alpha/beta since vanilla) you need to start advocating early and often. Especially once beta hits, the chances of anything other than kneejerk nerfs that last a content patch or two with no other fixing or compensation skyrocket.
It’s only alpha/beta/prepatch/9.0/9.1/9.2/9.3/next expansion will fix it isn’t a meme for nothing.
I dont think they will use tuning to tranfer a bunch of dmg from rapture into dots. Thats a huge change.
Tuning is mostly if things are op or undertuned they teak em
This is what I’m nervous off, Demo use to be my main till they removed Meta, Legion I was Afflic, then I’ve been in this limbo of Destro and Afflic, Currently I’d be going Afflic so far if no major changes happen or Demo if we get to change our demons like hunters pets.
If they nerf Malefic Rapture they’ll have to make our DoTs tick harder.
Then it wouldnt be a nerf.
