Aeonaxx died and despawns with no loot

This morning I finally found Aeonaxx after looking on and off for a few years, taunted him to the ground and yelled to my son. He wanted to group up, so I did not kill Aeonaxx straight away. After not very long Aeonaxx just died and despawned leaving no loot and no mount WTF? There were no other players outside the Temple of Earth (and inside there was only one AFK player).

I have screenshots of him despawning with my son waiting nearby and of the combat log showing him attacking me after I taunted him.

I raised this as a ticket (US74920151) but the GMs that responded seem pretty intent on just closing things out as fast as possible without really trying to hard to determine what actually happened.

One GM confirmed that logs showed that Aeonaxx was tapped by my character Felpex but apparently the logs do not show anything else. I find it hard to believe that the logs could not be searched to show what else happened in this case. I am hoping that submitting this as a bug might shed some light on why Aeonaxx died and despawned with no loot.

There’s two different Deepholm phases in a certain spot depending if you completed a quest or not, cannot remember the quest exactly, but there’s a chance a player in that phase may have sniped your Aeonaxx.

But that depends if you were in that part of Deepholm with the dragon.

It’s on the left side looking at the middle temple entrance if that’s where you were.

Thanks for the response Diago. The location was between the Temple of Earth and the Masters Gate which probably puts it in the place that you are talking about.

So if this is the case, a player in another phase can see an NPC in my phase, kill it and loot it without me ever seeing that player?

This seems like a big issue to me as players make decisions based on the visuals and sound from the game in front of them. Finding this extremely rare dragon is hard enough but having it sniped by a player from another dimension that you can’t even see is a bit rough. If I was aware of any other players around I would have one-shot it immediately.

Do any of the devs look at these posts?

Yeah that seems to be it, some quest there phases players but they both can probably see the same dragon regardless.

Kinda dumb this is a thing.

I’m sure they do, just certain one’s they actually respond to sometimes.
