In Court of Stars, the final boss’s Slicing Maelstrom ability from the spawned adds will do the extra damage as if you were within 7 yards of them no matter how far away from them you are. This is extremely punishing for the whole party but especially healers who have to try to keep the entire party up as though the mechanic was being failed as hard as possible.
Please fix this. I don’t know if there are conditions to activate this bug, but from the death logs in a court 15, I can confirm that multiple times despite being spread all over the room, the images were all hitting for about double what the boss was, and I can’t find a single instance of them hitting for the same amount as the boss.
I can’t include links in the post but I uploaded the combat log of the specific damage source from the illusions. The average hit for every single member on the party is above 15k across the entire fight.
Then I looked at that same ability from the boss itself. It did anywhere from 8-10k per hit average.

Just had this happen to my group… the slicing maelstrom is doing absurd amounts of damage like we aren’t even ranging them
Had this too, tried about 10 pulls, standing right within range all 3-4 images + boss range of the slicing maelstrom AoE did the same damage as me standing across the room from them all every time I tested.
This absolutely needs to be fixed.
I just ran a 15+ CoS and everyone in the group noticed this bug as well. The maelstorm is hitting EVERYONE no matter the distance and hitting extremely hard - past the point of being healable. There is an obvious bug here.
THeyre just letting this go I guess.
Just wanted to +1 this for visibility. In logs we looked at afterwards, all the clones did double the damage of Advisor Melandrus during the Slicing Maelstrom, no matter where anyone was so there is no way we are in 7y range of every single clone simultaneously.
So it appeared that the radius on that ability worked for the boss but was bugged for the clones.

well this needs huge attention then. I think everyone has grown accustomed to the dmg of this boss when it turns out its not supposed to be this high.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this bug has existed since Legion based on how hard the ability hit during Ty week keys back then. Ugh.
lets hope these recent m+ tunings also included a hotfix
Hotfix still 2 weeks overdue. Lets go developers, holiday is over time to start pushing pull requests.
