Advice on getting Loremaster title before cata

I’m going through every zone, trying to complete as many quests as possible. For addons, I’m using codex lite and leatrix maps.

Any other addons/tips would be appreciated.

zygor is a good one
complete all dungeon quests before zones because they count for both achieves

I didn’t use addons for like 99% of it. Just quested and did every ! I saw on the map. Obviously track low level quests.

I assume you’re doing it on that character? You’ll probably need some help from higher levels for certain quests.

There was a point near the end where I got Questie (first time I’ve ever installed it) just because it lists all the quests you’ve done and quests you’ve missed. Helped me find a few quests.

Edit - Actually now that I think about it I believe I got Loremaster without even using that addon. I got it to get the Seeker title, which Loremaster didn’t quite get me.

Honestly the only part of loremaster where I needed to use questie to scour the earth for quests was Kalimdor as horde. There are a number of quest chains that count towards Kalimdor but start over in eastern kingdoms so I’d recommend starting there as horde.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to get things done with bloodsail buccaneers done in the correct order. I had a capped reputation at honored with them but doing loremaster I had to do a few quests that lower their reputation substantially.

I wish I had escorted those stupid chickens long before I started whittling down reputations…

I did this one on alliance with just questie but i still have some advice. Go look up loremaster on wowhead, there are a ton of helpful posts on commonly missed quests and chains lots start with drop or misplaced quest items

You can also look up full quest chains on wowhead classic, so go to the end of the chain and copy the /run into your chatbar to see if youve completed the chain. If not go back quest by quest to see where you need to pick it back up. This helped me immensely but it was time consuming.

I did this while being hated with bloodsail bucs .
Some areas that gave me problems were the ghost quests at scholomance, blades edge theres a hood you need to equip to see the quest giver, lots of dropped items, especially in outlands. Theres also a lot of atunement quests that dont exist anymore, ie aq, old naxx etc but some of the actual instance quests count like the island in azshara with the hydraxian faction, or quests at the entrance to raids

I got Loremaster back in OG WotLK without addons but using Questie this time around really opened my eyes to how many obscure quests I’d missed.

If you feel like you are missing quests and you have questie installed type “/questie journey” to see what quests you are missing and their prequests. If you only care about speed then don’t bother reading the quest text and just go from zone to zone. Best class to do it is as a mage with inscription because teleports let you set your hearthstone anywhere and scrolls of recall let you go back to your hearthstone’s location when it is on CD. Get elixirs of water walking and water breathing for Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Have an alt next to the auction house, there are a few quests that will require you to turn in some items to progress. Get epic flying for Outland and Northrend, a 310% mount will save you a ton of time overall. Be prepared to go to the shimmering flats a dozen times.

Why not just wait until cata? You can still get Loremaster of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms by doing the new streamlined quests.

I believe it’s “All the Things - Classic” is a good add-on for tracking this type of thing.

It functions as a pop-up that updates in each zone for incomplete quests, as well as exploration unlocks, professions, etc. and you can expand or collapse those options to focus on what you do/don’t want to see.

+1 All The Things is absolutely the addon you want for this journey

As alliance, the biggest help is to scour the starting zones. Azuremist and Bloodmist isles as well as Teldrassil have tons of quests. Those places combined with Darkshore/Ashenvale got me the last 300 or so quests I needed to complete.

I wonder if the current Loremasters of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms become Feats of Strength when Cata launches.

They do not. If you have done Loremaster in Wrath, you will have the rewards and achievements in Cata, but the Loremaster achievement for each individual zone becomes available to obtain once pre-patch drops. You will already have the title and tabard, so the only reward for completing each zone in Cata is the achievement points.

The main reason to do Loremaster now before Cata pre-patch drops is if you have a significant amount of progress done already. Say you’ve completed 400 quests on each continent now, that gets wiped out when pre-patch drops, and at the point the only way to achieve the Loremaster title is to complete each “new” zone in Cata.

If you don’t have much progress done, I’d wait. Based on how much time one might spend between travel and researching quest chains, I wouldn’t bother finishing if I was under 50% done. It’s quite surprising how much time the zone revamps and quest streamlining save.

Even without doing the math properly this definitely sounds like a good idea. Assuming an average of 40 quests per zone and 15 zones per continent, that’s 600 for both but at a very streamlined pace compared to pre-Cata.

I copied my character with Loremaster over to the Cata Beta, and no…the achievements are just under Quests.
