Advice for Zekvir "? ?"

Hello fellow fury warriors, well I guess I’m prot right now, anyway I want some advice on Zekvir ??

I can’t seem to do better than 90%, I get to a point where the incoming damage just becomes too much to handle.

I am in prot spec now but my weapons are around 615ish item level.

I’m using dbm for mechanic call outs and my brann is at about 40 or 41.

What strategies did anyone whose soloed it on ?? use?

Hey brother.

I haven’t got him yet but im close (Three attempts last week between 18-22%).

Copy my Fury spec.

  • Double blade storm (Removes spittle)
  • Avatar (Removes spittle)
  • Remember that Odyn’s Fury casts Avatar for 4sec which again, removes spittle
  • Don’t allow yourself to get too far from him at any point, he WILL kill you with claw smash if you have already used your double charge and Heroic Leap (Remember charge removes spittle)
  • Stay away from the staircase as it can block you from moving
  • Spell reflect the phase 2 fear balls (They dont do damage to him anymore but instead it can save you from getting clipped by them especially if your camera angle sucks at certain points)
  • Be economical with your cds for the egg and using them to outlast Zek’s spittle (Don’t blow your load all at once instead spread them out)
  • Use flasks
  • Use Algari mana oil
  • Use Drums

Brann:

  • Set to healer (remember potions are also a HoT so don’t use all at once)
  • Brann settings should be amorphous relic and porcelain arrow (I tried experimenting with different types, they suck, this is meta for a reason).

Patience, discipline. It is a cognitive load test and you will only perish if you make a mistake.

The curios you use for brann aren’t as important as simply executing mechanics. On my dev evoker, I used brann as healer with relic of sentience for more healing potions and idol of the earthmother, which I don’t think ever procced at all. Brann’s healing potions apply a sizeable hot to you, stacking up to 4, so its good to stagger usage to keep that hot rolling.

Charge only removes spittle as slayer because of relentless pursuit, something prot doesn’t have access to. I think the only way prot can self clear is avatar, or shield wall if running immovable object.

Thank you for the advice!

I made some attempts last night using my own fury spec and was still having trouble. My biggest issue might just be a limitation on myself to an extent, but I’m having trouble managing his damage to me.

It might be a mechanic learning situation l, especially with the spittle. But I tend to panic when my hp is low, haven’t killed the egg sack yet, and the fear is dropped right on top of me and the egg.

I typically play prot, which is why I’m logged out as prot. But I’ve been doing Zekvir as fury. I did make some prot attempts yesterday, but I really have a hard time killing the egg in time.

Along with the same issues above, where mechanics just stack in top of each other. Though the hp issue isn’t as bad because tanks are obviously able to survive more punishment.

(I am Razorsong btw. This is my forum main)

$h!t, forgot to mention:

Zek’vir weak auras, I use that too.

I will have to try that. I’m having a hard time with how fast each mechanic comes out. I was hoping dbm would be enough.

If you have any other WA suggestions let me know, I’m mostly base UI.

Kick the heal, hope brann dispels the dot.

Anything that breaks slows removes the debuff.

Have some damage for the cocoon.

Once you nail the mechanics the hardest thing will be rng.

-boss doting you when you don’t have a cleanse available atm

  • egg spawning when you dont have a good cd available

  • Boss deciding to cheat and throw all their dodge or die attacks on top of the egg. Causing you to lose time and the spider hatching.

I recommend a good burst trinket as an emergency cooldown to deal with the egg. Mad queen mandate can fill this very good as it will deal about 80% of the egg’s health or straight up one shot it if it crits and you can use it from range

Please to confirm I got him!

Something clicked. I left it for a week and went in there Saturday night and got it on the 5th try. First attempt was 8% but I got clipped by a swirly.

Congrats! No new progress from me. I’ve never felt weaker/dumber than trying this fight xD.

This season, i was a 619 prot war. Grabbed a 623 2h sword from great vault, switched to arms, imported a M+ build from icy veins and cleared it within 4-5 attempts. ez.

Failed as hunter, dh, monk and mage. Warrior arms was easiest. This was before they nerfed zekvir, to make him easier to solo.
