Stuck at 57, grinding Wendigos. Not sure if there is an easier path to 60. All the quests at my level have me either doing a dungeon or quests with elite mobs. I’m getting my butt kicked in Wow Classic era, and it’s been silly difficult to get to 57, let alone 60. I have barely 11g due to repairs and food costs. There has to be an easier way. I don’t remember it taking this long when I was younger! What am I missing?
Doing dungeons (if you can get the groups together) is a really good way to get some xp/gold and gear. It might be hard to tank 60 dungeons at 57 but BRD and Dire Maul would be good options there.
Also Western and Eastern Plaguelands have quests with a ton of XP, the cauldron quests for example. It sounds like youre super close too, don’t forget to log out at an inn between play sessions!
If you truly completed all the relevant quests for your level its really just mob grinding and dungeons left. As other mentioned, Check Western/eastern plague lands for quests, check Silithus.
Your at the level that you can do the dungeons to start your pre bis farming. You should look for some lbrs/brd groups to try to get some of your pre raid bis since you will be doing that at 60 anyways.
Yeah, I’ve been trying to grind WPL and EPL for rep, hanging out in the NE of EPL killing those 57-59 level mobs, but I hate Pugging. It always results in wasted time and me with a hefty repair bill
What weapon are you using?
You should pickup the AV quest and win a match and get the ice barbed spear.
It’s probably unlikely you have something better.
pugging is tough especially when youre not at max lvl in later phases, but I can see youre in a guild currently - either using this group or finding a lvling guild can be a huge saving grace in trying to find groups for things
If grouping for content isn’t an option for you and grinding mobs doesn’t bore you then there’s some remote areas in epl you can chill and kill
I’m using Destiny, the two handed sword. I don’t want to switch weapons because each respec is more than I’m willing to pay.
Assuming you replied to wrong person. No reason to respec or swap weapons to do dungeons. I didn’t tank anything on my warrior. Well besides when I fury tanked in zerk stance lol.
But as the other guy kinda hinted to with AV, you also have an option to start your AV grind. Warrior gear is very good from pvp grind* and the first few levels are very fast to max your rep out for the week. Just use Ranker to confirm it.
Dungeons is the answer. Doing a full quest run in LBRS will get you most of a level in 1 run. Run it 3-4 more times and you got 2 levels.
…although ironically I always seem to be back killing bigfoot in winterspring for my last level grind lol
P.S. arms sweeping strikes whirlwind opener with a slow 2hander is the best dungeon trash dps spec for warriors. You cut through the dungeons no problem
P.S.S. get the quest for ice barbed spear and win 1 AV game. Massive dps increase over destiny (due to how slow attack speed works with sweeping strikes/whirlwind) for minimal effort
P.S.S.S. you can also start doing tirion fordrings questline in EPL. The one where you have to kill a million dogs, bats and worms. You want the dps neck at the end of the questline, anyway, so your killing two birds
Thats a big part of your problem.
That weapon (destiny) is really bad. Idc that its a purple. Its 2.6 Speed with a top end of 168 damage.
Ice barbed spear is 3.6 speed with a top end of 233. FAR better for an arms warrior to use.
As arms warrior you want a slow weapon with high top end damage. Hitting fast as an arms warrior is not ideal.
Plus ice barbed spear has 13 str 21 agi and 20 str. Its a better overall weapon by leaps and bounds. Its the 2nd best leveling weapon you can get before getting to end game.
The respec is beyond worth it.
i did my last couple levels via AV marks turn ins for xp , you end up with a decent 2 hander weapon from AV vendor and on your way to some good gear like posted above.
Kill green mobs.
You could also try tanking.
Run BRD until 58.
LBRS until 60.
58-60 in LBRS is like 3-4 runs.
Those last 10 levels take a while, no matter what you do. I think it’s best to identify a handfull of things you don’t mind doing, and switch between them every now and then to keep things fresh.
Dungeons I think are really the best way to go in those late levels, because for me it really breaks up the monotony of solo grinding/questing, and you get the chance to interact with others, make friends, and get some good loot. I understand that not everyone likes pugging, though, and it can sometimes be hard to find a group for exactly what you want. You have to be flexible when pugging. Not for everyone.
I’ve never been a big fan of quests, but xp is xp. A few spots that I like to mob-grind in late levels (as warrior I usually like to grind mobs at the lower end of the xp-level range):
Felstone Field and outside Uther’s Tomb area in WPL. Easy mobs, you can kill them pretty quickly and keep going, good for sweeping strikes. It’s all about volume with these guys. Lots of runecloth, bone fragments, and health pots. Often you’ll meet other people out there doing quests or grinding, and pairing up is nice sometimes. Also worth checking out the Scarlet Crusade lumber camps in the northern part of WPL. Lots of mobs, pretty easy, and almost nobody goes there except for herbalists. I think there’s just like 1-2 quests for there.
Winterspring yetis: sounds like this may be what you’re already doing. Unfortunately pretty far out of the way, but has some perks.
Satyrs in Azhara/Felwood: sometimes overfarmed, but usually a good source of gold from the felcloth. They go down quickly and respawn quickly. Learn where the camps are (the three in Azhara are my favorite) and rotate between them.
Ungoro gorillas/raptors/etc. The raptors might be too low level for you at 57, but I get as much xp and leather out of them as I can on most characters because they’re so plentiful and I like the ambiance. Gorillas I think are a bit higher-level.
Silithus is good because you can keep getting quests, but it’s tuned a little more for players who are already 60, and some of the mobs can be annoying.
Burning Steppes ogres and wolves are nice because they’re close to the flight path, but they might be below your level range.
Overall, just gotta keep killing and keep making incremental progress. Some xp is better than no xp. Really focus on perfecting your rotation and keybinds, which will pay off when you do group content.
54-58 is BRD it’s pretty quick if you can find groups fast enough.
58-60 is 3-4 LBRS runs or about 4 hours.
The biggest slog in the game is 40-45.
Yeah man you get out of the SM runs and your like, what do I do now…
Even rested xp is like I dont know bro, go kill some pirates or something and ill see you in a few levels, lol
He is a human and prob spec’d for swords, and has 0/285 polearms. Desitny is fine. Not that the spear isn’t better.
I will try the AV quest, I have literally never even done a BG, so I have no clue what I have to do, but I’ll give it a try? Destiny should be fine for getting me to 60, then I can drop it for Fury or Prot anyway?
Que up AV and follow the pack of horses at the start. Stick with the large group and you can fake it till you make it.
uh go to EPL? plenty of quests
so I just found Fiordring or whatever his name is, up the creek a ways. Those kill x number of Y quests should get me a good chunk of XP! Thank you!
