New to PVP on disc priest and I need a way to tell if allies in range still have atonement on them so I don’t waste a radiance charge. Is there a good way to track this? Maybe an addon? I shield myself as part of my dps rotation (selfish I know) so monitoring whether I have atonement is not informative for what my allies have.
Do you use any addons for raid frames or nameplates?
Healbot from curse. You have to set the keybind and maybe even some macros, and while your there pick up the healbot performance plugin so you can increase your refresh rates so you know who is in range and who is not.
Healbot is not everyones cup of tea but if your new its easy enough. There are better things for more experianced players but Healbot is your starting point.
Using radiance on allies who already have atonement is not a bad thing. It is a decent heal, and with the pvp talent it’s instant cast which is valuable in bgs because you won’t risk getting kicked.
If you are new to disc, you may also be unaware that our mastery makes our healing and absorbs stronger on allies with atonement. My gear is high mastery, so when I use a direct heal like radiance on someone who already has atonement, it will do 58% more healing.

i was also concerned about casting radiance unnecessarily creating an opportunity to get locked, but with it being an instant with the PVP talent, that’s not a concern?
Yes, the pvp talent is called Ultimate Radiance. You should probably use this talent every time you play battlegrounds or arena.
It also helps to know that radiance uses multi-magic school called “radiant” which is holy/fire. If you get kicked while casting a holy spell like penance or flash heal, it won’t lock you out from casting radiance.
If you enjoy the stock blizzard ui used enhanced raid frames, you can customize them with debuffs and buffs wherever you want but it keeps the stock look. Also eliminates the delay you get when jumping from frame to frame really fast.
Weakauras is a must for pretty much anyone who plays WoW. I have weakauras that monitor the person I’m playing with (focus) and then when they get a debuff I want to dispel it throws a monkey on my screen and airhorns me. You just make a dispel focus macro and you look like a hero
For arena have a haste set and bgs have a full mastery set (aim for like 12% haste for your mastery set, this allows you to Juke, finish a penance, and then ulti before precog is gone.)
Aim for 26% vers in your bg set and 30% in your arena set :). This is because you can vers pot in bgs for 30% from that point
Atonement healing is actually pretty awful in bgs at the moment, for some reason they decided to nerf it by 50% this season. Was barely viable last season, and they completely gutted it >:(. If you want help with learning the other playstyle I’d be glad to help :)! My record in bgs is 142 mil with 0 atonement healing
last thing:
For disc I really reccomend using some “Hit anything infront of you macros” that don’t break your target for times where you’re in a panic. Great for SWD as well!

Radiance is not usually used to spread atonement. You should use radiance to burst heal groups of teammates. To maintain atonement I usually cast renew or power word shield.
For example at the start of a team fight you wouldn’t radiance the team to spread atonement. That is a waste of burst heal potential. Instead you could PI a DPS, cast rapture and spread power shield on everyone which gives atonement. Now you have a massive bubble and atonement on your teammates. Here I would drop shadowfiend for atonement healing and spread your dot.
Atonement really isn’t the main heal for disc so I wouldn’t stress it too much. Focus on timely radiance, getting good penance heals off, upkeep on renew and massive raptures.

haha did a wsg blitz with another disc priest and he ran flag while i healed party. dont event hink his health moved entire game and there were some people hitting him. i lol’d in ancient disc priest
