There are probably earlier posts on this but I was after advice on the current state of things.
A couple of my alts are dual gatherers - herbalism/mining - and I’m finding it painful to get Artisans Acuity.
Unlike crafting professions, there are no custom orders for these professions, so that is one avenue that is closed to me. There is a weekly but it awards a very small amount and I am trying to get enough to create a couple of blue professions equipment pieces, and its frankly impossible at the moment. It takes like 300 per equipment piece and I have no idea how to get that much AA. (PS yes, I did get the starter amount of AA.)
I do get a couple of them whenever I get the little gathering specialisation pt boost items but that is a very random thing and the amount is small.
I can certainly just use the basic green versions but having at least one of the better blue items would be handy.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ditch one of the harvests. Pick up any craft, do the quest in the crafting work order building (might require skill 25 to unlock it, tailoring is cheap choice). 350 acuity right off the bat. Pick up your harvest back up again. Make sure you learn your Treatise once a week, that is 5, yea its low, but it will add up. Make sure you mine, herb, or skin, or loot dirt piles each week, for their specialization items, those also give you some.

I tried that on a low level alt to test it. It didn’t work.
I unlearned the gathering proff, learned tailoring, went to the crafting work order building but there was no option to get the 350 acuity quest.
Looks like they have hotfixed that.

There are KPs items you get while gathering. 5 x1 KP and then a 3-4 KP. Each week for each gathering professions. Once you gathered those, and if you’ve fallen behind since the expansion’s began, you then catch up KP items. All those KP items also give 5 AA per KP. Also recommend you use true sight phial. It greatly increases the number of nodes to gather, any rank will do the trick.

Oh I do, its magic.
As for the rest, Im not sure I understand. I know that when I herb or collect ores, and especially for the powerful nodes, I will sometimes get an item that when clicked gives a knowledge point and some Acuity. Are you saying the number of those that you can collect is time limited?
dual gatherer and have close to 3500 acuity i have not used. got them on all skillups and weekly etc.
I havent been playing the dual gatherer I am currently working on for very long, been concentrating on my other crafting characters. Its good that I can look forward to having numbers like that but right now I dont.

I mean I am mostly casual no more than 11 hours on most weekdays but it comes.
They are limited in that you can gather a number of them each week. 5x1 KP and the last is epic and gives 2 KP. Once you get that one you are done getting AA for the week. If you are up to date in weekly KP that is. If not and you continue to gather you will start to get the catchups items. You can only get those once you are done getting the weekly items .
Thats why I was a bit puzzled by Callsaul saying their dual gatherer has close to 3500. Its only been 6 weeks since the launch, thats like more than 500 per week. I mean, I know thats a generalisation but still, skill ups don’t give that much, and neither does the weekly. I just cant wrap my head around how you could earn 3500 in 6 weeks just by the gathering, skill up and weekly.
There are no patron orders for Herbalism or Mining. You can’t make anything to earn stuff. All you can do is gather and increase your specialisation from what you pick up. Unless Im seriously missing something.
id like to learn this trick too. the math has been done, including darmoon faire skill ups. roughly 27 weeks to reach the 3550 acuity needed for all blue gathering gear + profession bags for 2 gathering professions.
Likely doing the much degenerate profession shuffle which made blizzard nerf a lot of AA acquisition. If your toons are long established, it is most likely not something you want to do.
I wouldn’t take saul seriously. They make a lot of bait posts and never go into detail on anything when pressed about it. It’s just hot air, is all. Acuity is indeed slow to gather and it’ll take time to afford the blue prof equipment, especially with the limits in place. Even as a dual crafter I’m not even close to having a full set of blue stuff.

Everyone, please get a knowledge point tracker. Not only will it remind you what you got that week, but it will tell you about things you don’t know about.
Myu’s is really good.

OK thanks for the heads up. I really get annoyed when people do that sort of thing on a post asking for advice and help.

Sorry for the late reply… but I think the craft needs to be 25 skill, for that quest to show up in the work order building. I’ve done it on 10 characters now. There is a good addon called Chore Tracker, that shows you what you missed for skill ups btw.

That was the artisan’s consortium intro quest. It’s once per character and profession agnostic.
Not sure I understand. Do you mean that my first professions needs to be 25 skill before I can delete it and get the quest on a new professions, or that the new professions needs to be skill 25 to get the quest? And 25 on what expansion?
Yes, I know about that quest. What I have said is the character does not offer me that quest when I swap professions.
