Can there please be an advertiser only chat because there are advertisers completely and totally within the new boosting rules, getting bans/reported for doing nothing more than advertising a service. If boosting is still allowed in personal/guild groups there has to be some protection from random idiots reporting us for no other reason than they don’t support boosting. There are zero repercussions for false reports especially if 20 losers are reporting the same person just because they don’t support a legal service. Add an advertiser chat so these people who don’t understand there’s an addon that blocks advertisements so we can stop losing game time and headache with customer service only because the system is automated and doesn’t protect people under their new stupid rules. This could all be fixed with adding an advertisement text channel.
That’s like asking Nike to only advertise to basketball players. Why on earth would someone limit their marketing audience?
And FYI, you can make as many channels as you want. You just have to advertise their existence.
It would be nice if WoW had something a little more RPGish. Like town boards or somewhere were people can post what they are looking for or selling if they are none items.
maybe blizzard should reconsider and ban it completely if that many people are still reporting it for obviously not agreeing with it.
It would be up to Blizzard to not have them squelched/suspended from chat. Other customers think they are spamming.
Or it would be up to Blizzard to have a penalty for “false reporting.”
You are advertising on level appropriate characters that are also capable of doing said content and are affiliated with a team correct?
People shouldn’t false report but if you advertise on a non-level 60 or the character has bo credentials it’s up for report.
I recommended a long time ago Blizzard make some kind of contract item that could be sold on the AH. This could eliminate the advertiser chat all together as well as protect both buyers and sellers.
Advertising has to be done by the player-character (toon) involved in carry. Advertising cannot be done on low level alts. I have personally reported 4 of them since the ban. And I’ll do it every single time it’s a low level toon doing the advertising.
Actually it’d be more like Nike only advertising to people that want shoes (and clothes and whatever else they sell) and I’m pretty sure they’d love that.
Nobody cares about booster feelings. Don’t spam if you don’t want to be reported. After trade was lost to boost spam I don’t want to see a single boost ad. It’s like the pop up ads from early 2000s I never want to see them again
I was on a ksm max level alt. Also there is nothing against advertising on alts just not obvious ad toons at low levels.
Why do people think that if you give them their own channel they will stick to it? I mean it has been against the rules for them to advertise in group finder for about 6 months now and I bet you could find at least 4 doing so right now.
What Blizzard needs to do is hire some staff and handle the problem.
It specifically said in the clarifying blue post it has to be done on the player-character participating in the activity.
If you’re advertising on Zabuza but planning to play Zabuzb you’re breaking the new rules about advertising.
No they need to remove the automatic squelch they have currently.
Trade chat is advertiser chat because it is for trading good and services which boosting is.
They should instead push back of the false reporting is a massive problem.
Same in real life JD vs AH iykyk
It is nice to see ryu’s fireball gang missing from the trade channel. Sorry, but if a low level hits more than twice a minute with their ad, I report as spam. Never again.
if it’s what the ToS is then yes the legit boosters will
I don’t really know who these people are. But looking at what they write and considering it’s going to a website best bet is these are rmt. These ads I report each time
I sell on 4 characters and you cant tell which one youre going to sell on until someone whispers you because you swap for specific armor stacks. I know people that have had voice calls with blizzard admins and this was not targeting max level alts. Only meant to stop cross realm gold and add only toons.
Here is the post I’m referring to:
The way it is written heavily implies advertising on alts who aren’t doing the carry directly is violating the new rules.
I tend to give max level characters in the guild they advertise for the benefit of the doubt, but low level alts are getting reported instantly.
No, because boosts are still unsupported transactions. They aren’t going to make a channel for something unsupported.
If you have no intention of using the toon in the advertised run, no matter the level, you are in violation of the new terms.
