Advertisements in LFG

Is anyone talking about this?

I report 10+ ads every day for PlayCarry dot com and it doesn’t seem like Bliz is doing anything to keep them out of group finder. Every time I report them they are return the next day.

Bliz, why can’t you fix this problem? I don’t want to see these advertisements anymore.

Wow, lucky you! I see them re-listed within 5 min.

Fix how exactly? They did as much as they could. Report and move on. Also get addons.

there’s not really much to say. RMT boosters are like roaches - you’ll never really get rid of them. they’re out there in the world and contstantly looking for places to get a footing.

see them, report them, move on.

oh, and

then you simply don’t see them at all

I’m not sure what methods they have, but if I’m spending time to use their “report ad” feature I will assume there is protocol on their end. I do have an expectation from devs to do something about this, it’s their problem.

What do you expect them to do, hire and sit a guy in front of a computer to manually ban them as they come? Why would they bother when you do it for them or make them disappear yourself with the use of a simple addon that someone else made for free?

And note that every system that would automate a ban system would 100% impede more legit players than it would them. See how authenticator to edit LFG was received.

Yes, absolutely actually; they have whole departments for violations of ToS. And as long as I’m paying monthly I will hold them to that expectation, and you should too. It’s part of what our subscriptions buy despite what options might be available.

I’m not sure why you’re defending Bliz when they are falling short, nor have you actually offered any solution here. Wouldn’t recommending an addon be the helpful thing to do?

I’m not at home right now so I can’t suggest a particular addon. Typing group finder in your prefered addon dispenser should offer good suggestions.

Ok, the reason I say that is because I have an ad blocker that doesn’t catch them. I use the built in report ad feature daily and literally the same accounts keep popping up. What are we reporting them for if no action is taken?

I really think you and everyone should hold Bliz more accountable and get out of the mindset of “they are doing all they can”. They aren’t. Change will never happen if everyone takes a passive stance like that. Why are you defending them?

Because it’s players causing those issues, not blizzard, and since said players are already operating around the rules of the game, they will still find a way to go around anything blizzard comes with, leaving only the legit players to have to go through hoops because of those donkeys.

It takes more than 1, 2 or even a few players, and most players are too lazy to report them.

The only thing that reporting them in group finder does is hide them until you relog or reload. I doubt they even look at those reports.

I really think you have the wrong idea of a ToS. It’s a contract that works two-ways. We all agree to the same rules, and in turn Bliz is supposed to protect and preserve the experience of the whole. Moreoever, the protection of our experience is literally what we are buying when when sign a ToS, they are failing to do their due diligence on their end. Personally, I do my part to play within the bounds of the ToS, they need to hold up their end of the contract and they aren’t.

I literally report the same character names every day and they still are allowed to spam the game. No reality where I’m ok with reports being ignored when I’m a paying member of the game.

That guy is so protective about Playcarry lol!
anyways I too report them as many time as possible. Yet, Blizzard doesn’t do anything about it. If reporting worked they’d be out of business. Apparently, the advertising accounts are paying and authenticated in order to put stuff on the description. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard was encouraging it. I once complained about it here then got banned for more than a month. Hell… it might actually be a Blizzard’s side hustle to get extra change from some nerds.
