Adventurer Question

If the “adventurer” that we all are in-game is truly unkillable, since we can just release and run back to our corpse, then why aren’t we revered as gods in lore within WoW?

Dying in-game: resurrection is a gameplay mechanism.
Dying in lore: soul is going straight into the Maw to get tormented.

  • The Jailer will make you eat pineapple pizza and make you listen to Celine Dion music… PURE TORTURE FOR ETERNITY!

So in-game lore we’ve never actually died once?

That seems awfully ridiculous still considering we’ve killed Old Gods and we’re not even like… mayor of a town or anything.

I think it could be explained as if your character died, then someone else’s just takes over. They also tried making us a commander in WoD and the champion of our class in Legion and people generally didn’t like that. There were TONS of posts complaining about not being a random murder-hobo like we were in classic.

Why would anyone want to be a random murderer homeless people?

Still feels kind of bad that we don’t have like a … house or something in Stormwind/Orgrimmar at least since we’ve killed literal gods to save everyone.

I would LOVE to have player housing in the game where we would be able to choose what zone and aesthetic we lived in. It shouldn’t need anything other than a mailbox and maybe a set hearthstone there. Giving us a place to live is the least the leaders of our factions could do in thanking us for all we’ve achieved throughout the years.

I would actually pay money for player housing under the guise of “Thanks champion here’s a house”.

I feel almost unrewarded in-game lore-wise for being an amazing hero for the people within Azeroth and beyond.
