Adult servers?

This started out as a kids game, but there are a few of us who are adults who started playing when we were kids. It would be cool if there was a adult server. Some place where you might swear or talk about something that was of adult content and you would not get in trouble or banned. Also people would not be all offended if you did swear. I would just like a adult server with mature people, you could talk openly in any chat without someone getting offended or the possibility of being banned because someone was offended. Thoughts?

Blizzard complies with State and Federal labor law and never employs underage servers or kitchen staff.

Adult servers.

Sounds like a commercial for Depends.

Just a server where bowel problems happen.

So your saying an adult server is somewhere where you don’t take other peoples feelings into account before you do something, essentially turning into a server full of middle-aged immature children.

Or, y’know, don’t break the terms you agreed to.

You know what though… I don’t think it’s the kids that are getting offended.

outdated terms. I agreed to years ago.

Join an adult guild. There is a few guilds that have rules like have to be over 18 or 21.

And if the terms still apply today, then they’re not outdated.

there is a filter though but people still get offended

There is and you can control that in parental settings as well as even letting chat show up at all.

You can still be reported and actioned for chat even if the profanity filter is used by others. That particular feature doesn’t give you permission to curse freely in public, it’s just to help protect those who don’t want to see it.

There’s also plenty of incredibly heinous stuff that can be said that the profanity filter won’t catch, because none of the individual words are considered profane.

There’s already an adult server. I live on it.

Everything is sticky…

I’m not advocating hate speech or anything like that but if someone wants to constantly use the F word in conversation…the profanity filter is there for a reason.

Yes, the reason is to protect the people who really don’t want to see it. It doesn’t shield you from being silenced, it’s still a violation of policy.

I’m not arguing what it is I’m saying it should be changed because the profanity filter exists.

My apologies for the misunderstanding. Regardless, I think it’s fine the way it is. I don’t see any reason to curse amongst strangers, personally.

It’s just something I do. My wife and I would put sailors to shame with our language. I’m VERY anti censorship.

It started out, and remains, a T for Teen rated game.

Although, it wouldn’t be such a terrible thing if all the people who can’t be bothered to at least pretend to act like decent human beings were confined to one server. That way, they couldn’t bother either the younger kids or the actual grown-ups.

WoW’s profanity filter exists because people (including alleged adults) cannot be trusted to obey rules they agreed to obey. (And sweetheart, I could probably outswear you – but I know when it’s appropriate, and when it isn’t.)
