Is OP old enough to know how to read a paper map?
I guess we are pretending that thottbot, youtube, vent, meters, etc did not exist in 2004.
I have literally never been able to play WoW without online resources and/or addons. Not since 2007. I don’t know a single player who plays retail raw.
i do not know lol
and we had to use two the one that showed the whole us with the main highways
and the ones for cities and town
I was not talking down to the players I was pointing out an existing problem with the way Bizz is reworking the game. In essence feeding into a negative environment for players.
you forgot the most important reason: when stuck on a quest or it’s broken or appears broken, the response from an in-game ticket response suggests wowhead.com to look up the quest. I’ve even received direct links.
Look at half of the responces you got, you honestly think that the way you worded such a post came off totally civil and professional. It provoked good feed back and made people want to engage with you in a postive discussion of your point… yikes
I use a minimum of addons…
Zygor Guide
Titan Panel.
That is all. I no longer do end game content. I do not play Dragonflight or Shadowlands.
I just do Fishing and Cooking Daily Quests on all my characters.
Civil, yes. But;
I wrote the post using only my opinion. As I mentioned in the post it was slightly dramatized. I am not a professional writer to be held to such expectations. I just post my opinion in the forums. Some people agree, some don’t agree, most don’t even care.
It’s the Wow forums.
PS: If pointing out a negative aspect of World of Warcraft Gameplay has offended anyone.
I sincerely apologize. But I also sincerely believe that Wow needs to eliminate this unhealthy alliance with third party sites and a literally forced player dependency on a preponderance of third party add-ons.
Not saying you have to be a professional writter by any means. Just maybe use a bit more sugar than vinger is all.
However seeing this is a wow forum and i dont want to completely derail your post ( that was never my intent so i apologize for that)
I think you do have some points i agree with. One of which is oit side sources including wowhead. Not having wowhead sucks ( i played swtor alot and lack of info can be very confusing) but, this is because the game it self doesn’t do a great job explaining items, some abilities, upgrades stuff like that.
When they annouce class changes i moreor less go to wow head as i feel they are more dependable explaining and notifying players of changes, ( more then some devs do in the forums).
This i do agree with you on and was a fair point
You used derogatory comments to put others down.
Title is used to put people on defensive.
This is derogatory.
Your entire point is to insult people and troll.
You dont want open conversation. You want people put on the defensive. Create arguments with each other.
My posts are meant to generate conversation and friendly discussion. Apparently you are determined to make me out to be some bad person because I posted my opinion. I already know from your responses that nothing I say will sit well with you.
But I’ll try. I take it that some people misunderstood my post to mean that somehow Wow players are bad and need help from “Mommy and Daddy.” because other wise they can’t play the game by themselves. I think that’s the part you don’t like. My point was to point out the negative effect that Blizzard’s policies had on it’s players.
Instead of continuing to provide a player with the feeling that (Dramatization incoming) “I am a big boy / girl. And when I play Wow I can do it all by myself.” Most players are reduced to;
“OMG I don’t get any of this at all. I have no idea what to do next, I feel so helpless. I must go online and get help” from what is essentially
websites that are surrogates to “Mommy and Daddy.” Or perhaps the Big boys /girls.
That was my entire point. Again if this offended some people I apologize. But all of you out there reading this. Ask yourselves does this dramatized analogy actually have merit.
Does this shoe fit the average Wow player. Did Blizz create this internet addiction-dependency on it’s player base?
And you do this by insulting people?
You could try for honest open conversation. And not insulting people. If you feel that you are physically unable to respond without insulting people. Thats on you.
“If I offended you by calling you a baby, im sorry, but ask yourself if the analogy of calling you a baby has merit”
I guess you are right.
Nothing you say will sit well, because its absolutely vital to you…to insult others.
You are totally incorrect. And your flagging my post and having it muted was uncalled for and unnecessary.
I havent flagged a single post.
I only use deja character stats for my twinks and details to see what moves are doing what percentage of my damage.
My desk doesnt have enough room for a second monitor
I have proven for years that I do not need any of those things. Lol
They’re nice to have now though. (for those on that list I use anyways.)
I play wow everyday by myself and I do just fine
“Does this shoe fit the average Wow player. Did Blizz create this internet addiction-dependency on it’s player base?”
^^^^^^ <----- this statement here is all you needed my fellow wow player.
The references to “mommy daddy” or " baby"
Is the problem ( with a few other statements) you can make points, share opinions, show your perspective. Even dramatize, without the need for belittling people or making them few bad about themselves for using guides or add ons of any sort.
For example if you would have said something like " hey all, as a veteran/new/returning player. Do you feel wow relys to heavily on 3rd party programs ( add ons) and resources ( web sites)
What do you all think, i feel its rather frustrating as a veteran/new/returning player such as myself."
Any thing close to something like that would still have gotten your points through and much more postive feed back and under standing.
But instead your doubling down, all the while your post has been flagged and hidden and your point has been blurred from the viewers instead of getting support.
I am really trying hard not to be rude, im really not meaning to.
Im sure your a good, nice person irl. But talking to people like that, i would have just walked away nice or not you came off rude. that is excatly why it got flagged. And its not any one person for flaging it takes multiple flags for a post to be muted like that.
I venture to say multiple people took that abit offensivly and with all honesty i can see why.
