Adjustments to Dungeon Creature Behavior and Group XP

so the small amount of gold per hour earned by RMT gold farmers doing boosts has been ruined at the cost of guildies not able to help guildies ( lets ruin social help) cost of even finding equal level group members to do old content in the first place and changing the way mobs react in regular normal play. You think this is going to stop gold sellers, you just ruined several aspects of regular play for people and its not going to make one dent in gold farmers, they will charge people to blast them through quests faster, or hike up the prices on all the materials they have time to node farm all day 24hrs a day. This is about the weakest approach to fixing something that has only existed for like ever now. Let it go. You want to stop people from buying gold, change the dramatically high price of mounts and increase node respawn times and locations so that people can acquire mats outside of the auction house. Give them less reasons to buy gold instead of breaking gameplay over it.

I dont think you understand.

Some dungeons like BRD have 10+ level range.

They are literally saying “Hey, if your friend is too high level, you cant efficiently play with him anymore”.

In regard to the statement of spam with gDKP runs. Theres nothing wrong with this. Theres SR Run spam all day too.

using the in-game currency as a means of DKP is not against ToS. People whaling real money into gold is definitely a problem. But limiting peoples ability to play the game in order to combat bots is a poor design.

FFXIV handled this situation with dungeons very, very well.

They have 2 ways to queue for a dungeon. Say its level 21-26 dungeon, and your level 70. You get scaled down to 26. Problem solved.

Alternatively you can run the dungeon “unsynced” but you get no xp at all.

Blizzard should have just level synced dungeons and called it a day. Also make it so people have to either heal a certain % per pull or do a certain % of damage per pull in order to get loot/xp…

I never Ran Dungeons For XP… Its not as fast as questing. I only run Dungeons For gear, And when I have all the Quests for the Dungeon to Make it worth Running

You can get really good XP in dungeon runs with a group at your level. But questing works too. Each to his own.

Interestingly, people hate getting lowbie dungeons when they queue for their roulettes. As being scaled down to 26 also means they only get their abilities of that level, so basically your rotation is now 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2. And in tank and healer cases? 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1

But your playing the dungeon the way it was designed, at the level and appropriate skills for the dungeon.

The only issue i ever have in FFXIV with the scaling is for tanks, which they recently fixed. Some tanks didnt have AoE threat abilities until like 40. They reduced them all to 15, basically at first dungeon level.

I love running roulettes on FFXIV.

You have raid roulettes, dungeon roulettes, expert roulettes(heroics basically), PvP Roulettes. All award good money for the time, especially if your the class in need.

Most classes in TBC rotation is already 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 for frostbolt or z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z for blizzard now.

I use an addon that effectively filters out the boosters spam in the global channels.

I think a simple change that would be more effective would be that if you are not in combat with a mob, you can neither receive XP nor loot from the mob. While I’m sure would be unpopular to the boosters and boostees, this would see an end to the majority of boosting.

The money is arguably not really good, it’s fine if you have absolutely no intention of doing any gathering or crafting in particular but it won’t get you very rich.

The other difference is FFXIV dungeons are literally braindead faceroll, trash mobs have no mechanics, no pats, no runners, nothing. Every dungeon is full pull until a wall, boss, rinse repeat. No danger.

Have you tried ignoring this thing that is a total non-issue to most people that play this game? Let’s concentrate on making the game playable instead of punishing people for utilizing mechanics that this game has had for years. Find the gold sellers, and charge or ban them instead of dropping hotfixes that break the whole game.

Blizz is angry about RMT because they don’t get a cut.

That’s an oxymoron.

This depends on the dungeons, and the way the group chooses to run them, really. Dungeons that are relatively small and have a lot of mobs (Scarlet Monastery, Stockade, Slavepens, just to name a few) are worthwhile to run more than once, even without quests.

Some others, like Zul’Furrak and BRD have particular conveniences (near Gadgetzan, a vendor located inside, etc.) These may also be worth running more than once.

As Alliance, I never bothered with Maraudon or the Razorfen dungeons, due to inconvenient locations.

All that being said, killing lots of mobs is really what makes or breaks the XP gain. Skipping packs of mobs almost never makes sense while leveling.

This is why people hate you…

And GDKPs? Seeing as the gold is typically purchased originally from illicit sources and then sold for real monies, wouldn’t this fall under the same idea?

Yes, completely breaking entire economies is a non-issue… also only being able to ignore 50 out of hundreds of people spamming the same crap relentlessly in multiple channels… also a non-issue. Sod off. Stop exploiting the game for real life financial profit.

well now no one needs to lfg cause its useless unless your max lvl. you cant get into stuff without crushing the xp gap. They turned the leveling into solo questing nothing more.

LOL imagine thinking the people who already sold boosts and got their gold didint just take the golden ladder up with them. The economy is still ruined my guy, you just now have no step ladder to reach the top anymore.

I’m fine with the excuse they’re giving for why they did it, but as someone who came from FFXIV, finding 4 other friends who are all within ~7 levels of each other so Blizzard doesn’t think we’re a boosting group is an absolute pain.
They’ve strayed from the original WotLK in ways that make it harder to play with randoms and to play with friends. As someone who won’t even be using the LFG channel they’re trying so hard to clean, this just sucks. Pull a FFXIV, steal their best idea, and give us level sync so I can play with my own friends again without all of us wondering if we’re wasting our time.

If only there was an automated tool who could do it for people to avoid these feelbad moments. Maybe it could even look beyong the players’ servers, to keep the time searching down.
