I find the short races (goblins, dwarfs, gnomes) very difficult to play because the in-game camera rotates and pitches around the character’s eye level. If you have a tall character, you can “see over” terrain and other things more easily because your eye height is higher off the ground. Short races lack that advantage.
The solution I’m looking for would move the “short” race eye level upwards to be equal to that of a taller race. I realize will cause visual problems when you zoom in for a first-person view, but I’m willing to accept that in exchange for having a higher “view of the world” for a short race.
Over a decade ago, in the config ini file, there was a character scale setting that moved the camera rotation/pitch point above or below character height for that race. However, that option seems long gone (or it’s hidden beyond my ability to find it).
The dynamic camera mod is very nice, but I cannot find a setting that accomplishes my goal. It appears oriented toward cinematic work, not everyday gameplay.
Does a mod exist that will do what I want? If so, what’s the name, where can I find it, and what is the variable that makes the change I want?
