Adjustable Mount Volume

Hi, guys!

I’ll keep this short. To my ears certain mounts are simply too loud and/or overly annoying. This is especially the case when in highly populated areas, for example the Feast of Winter Veil in Orgrimmar. Another instance wherein this can be useful is when players (as I’m witnessing right now) spam mount and dismount repeatedly (trolling). And of course while riding around solo, some mounts can just become painful to the ears. I would love to have the ability in system settings to adjust mount volume specifically, similar to how I can adjust other in-game sounds.

That’s all.

I think it’s highly unlikely that they’ll ever make it possible to adjust specific sound sources.

I’d just turn fishing bobber noises up 500%

I don’t mean to suggest that all sources of sound should have their own adjustable volume, just mount noises. You’re right, though, this is unlikely.

If they would have let us keep our custom sound folder, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Overly annoying… engineers flying machine.
I dont mind noise at all and that sound annoys even me after a few minutes.

The Sky Golem comes to mind.

Mimiron’s Head. That hight pitch squeak is annoying.

The only sound that needs its own volume slider is the bloody queue popup.

I used to have a different version of the sound effect that was lowered to about 30% volume, and I could both hear it throughout the house and not go deaf when a queue popped, but then Blizz had to go and break the sound replacing method.

Playing with the in-game settings now, I’m pretty sure the noise is so loud because Blizzard has set to play on every available channel, so it plays once for Sounds, once for Music, and once for the Master channel (I guess for people who have both muted), so you have an obnoxiously loud sound effect playing stacking on itself 3 times.
