Dracthyr warriors seem to hold shields at their elbows. Even small shields clip into your shoulderpads, and larger shields go right through the wings. I think moving it down the arm and maybe tweaking the angle will do a lot.
Also, when in Visage form with your shield sheathed, it seems to be offset awkwardly on your back.
