Addressing the "unintended?" nerf to feral powershifting

its not fringe, its literally the only way to viability as feral

Blizzard please give us Classic style energy ticks. Iā€™ve been leveling up a Feral Druid to play in TBC because power shifting seems extremely fun to me, only to have this terrible change in energy gains. Please donā€™t nerf an already struggling DPS spec.

bump because important

Druids hear me, we are the few, but our ranks are bolstered by our love of what we call our class, our spec. We cannot give in to their lack of cummunication and unjustified actions, we must stand up and band together as we, horde and aliance alike we are bound to the moonglade and that means we are all brothers and sistereā€¦ Band together lets give these forums hell, lets show them how even though we are few, we are strongā€¦

Still perplexing silence from Blizzard. Wonder what theyā€™re working on that could be more important than this. Is screwing up the entire honor system really what they chose to devote their resources to?

Please leave ā€˜as is.ā€™

Thanks.

What do you like about the current iteration?

Never been a fan of seal twisting or powershifting. Would rather play a subpar class than one that relies on what boils down to ā€˜creative use of game mechanics.ā€™

Iā€™d much rather talk about seeing a rebalance of these classes to perform ā€˜as intendedā€™ versus relying on a permanent version of the crowd pummeler.

Adding another post to keep it going and seen.
Also pummelers arenā€™t a thing in TBC and fan or not, powershifting will still happen even with this ā€œnot a bugā€, just in a more terrible way.

Blizzardā€™s non-communication on this matter is quite saddening and really shows that they donā€™t care about their players, just their wallets.

Sad but true.

Cat dps has been my favorite spec to play for over 16 years now because of the engaging rotation. Keep cat fun.

pls fix

The nerf to powershifting would suck but wouldnt matter if blizzard didnt change the game mechanics to make sure paladins could seal twist.

Just give ferals their tick, it a double standard, hurts people playing a spec that isnt OP, and reduces the viability of druids in TBC across the board.

Except part of the tuning came from such clever use of game mechanics. Part of the fun of playing a game is finding the best ways (that may be unintended) to maximize your role. Furor was an intended talent, and the wolf shead helm was given its mechanics for a reason. Players found a way to bolster their role by using these items together. Games arenā€™t fun if everything is laid out for you, exploration is part of the fun.

What makes you think powershifting is unintended? We even have talents and an item designed for it.

A talent in the restoration tree, and a level 40 blue. Yes.

A first tier talent in the restoration tree and a level 40 blue, yes. Both intended.

A level 40 blue intended to be mandatory at level 70? Malarkey.

A level 40 blue intended to be mandatory at level 70? Malarkey.

At level 60 and at level 70, yes. Youā€™re pretending like this is an isolated example rather than a core principle of how the game is designed.

Sure, if you ignore level 60 items like Scarab Brooch, which youā€™ll still use at 70 and even at 80; if you ignore consumes like Elixirs of Demonslaying, which require level 40 and are used at 70, then yes, Wolfshead seems like anomaly. Ignoring all of the other items in the game that have a similar distribution across levels requires a level of mental gymnastics that Iā€™m not sure I can accommodate.

Original WoW was never about item level. This is a rather alien mindset that comes from retail, where ilvl is all-important. Wolfshead was intended to be used at any level at which it could be useful.
