With the pre-patch coming out this week I decided to go through & clean out deleted character folders in WTF, and discovered something weird. It seems like every character in my war band now has a folder under every server I’ve connected to in the last few days and not just under the server the character is actually on. The newly added extra folders only have an AddOns.txt in them & nothing else, so at least the actual saved variables are not duplicated, but that still seems like a bug of some sort. Anyone else noticing that?

Yes, I have noticed this and can confirm I am experiencing the same issue. I’ve been searching for any sort of information or answers on the topic but it seems to have gone largely unnoticed with very little being said about it.
I would like to think that it is a bug but I suspect it may be a byproduct of how all characters are now thrown together on the login screen irrespective of realm.
My first concern when I saw this happening was for characters with the same name from other realms overwriting settings. While thankfully this doesn’t seem to be happening it’s still a little confusing and if nothing else adding unnecessary folder bloat to our WTF settings folder.
It would be good to see some official word on if it is a bug or is in fact working as intended and what that means for how it is meant to work now having everything in the same folder.
