Add ons were in Vanilla.

Therefore, if you want a true Vanilla experience, they should not bother you.

That and of course, no one forces you to use them.

On tuesdays we should be told the game is down for maintenance for about 8 hours. To simulate the classic experience a bot with blizzard forum rights should come in a couple hours after that 8 hours to tell us that maintenance is extended and no ETA when servers will be up.

Every 4 hours, a 50/50 dice roll should be done, if it comes up heads, have the bot post again saying there’s no ETA. Repeat this every 4 hours until it comes up tails.

Retail tells you what the tank’s threat is. That wasn’t around in vanilla was it? I don’t remember it being there.

Well sure the boss eating their face is a good indicator but people may want to know before it gets to that point. Maybe. Personally I’m not seeing this as an issue with 1.12 threat mechanics because if someone is pulling threat it’s mostly gonna be “tank’s fault”. Especially with 1.12 threat mechanics.
Still. Even if it does work out that way it’s still no reason to remove all addons. Since OP’s stats and his abandonment of his thread(unless he’s in here on another alt) points to just inciting a reaction I’m gonna say this thread:

Threat meter is almost a must and possible dps. Any other one can get the ban hammer for all I care.

Yeah when you’re doing Onyxia and she wing buffets the tanks and you pull aggro and wipe the raid, the first thing people will ask is if you have a threat meter.

It would be nearly impossible to prevent other people from developing overlays and ui additions to a freely accessible data structure.

The entire concept of OP’s post is control.

I remember them saying something about that. I think they said they were going to change the API back to something similar to how it was back in Classic. But, not completely because there were things the old API allowed that could be abused.
