I have two wow accounts where one has game time and the other account is a f2p account. I don’t play my f2p account alot but i decided to play my f2p druid i have. For some reason my addons and keybinds are not set up like they are on my main account? Shouldn’t my addons be exactly set up like my ones on my account with sub? I don’t really want to setup all the addons again is there a way to copy and paste the addons so i dont have to set them all up
Addons are present in the same folder structure, but all settings (including which addons are active) are separate by account.
Also, some settings are different from character to character and their settings files are named for the character. If one character on one account has settings that might work for another on another account, you could copy the setting file from one account to the other and rename it in the destination to match the intended character. This ought to work, but I haven’t tried it so I can’t guarantee anything.
Some addons have it set up so people can have different setting profiles for each character in case you like them one way for one character and another way for another character.
Addon settings are stored in: World of Warcraft > retail > WTF.
It’s separated by account after that point.
I’ve not tried, but if I were to guess, I’d copy the ‘SavedVariables’ folder from: WTF > Account > [Main Account] over to the same place in the other account’s folder.
Like Sniperorc said, though, it saves addon settings on a character by character basis. I’m not sure what you would need to copy to get the profiles over to the other account. Maybe my idea would work, maybe his would work. Dunno.
Edit: FWIW, my TRP3 data for ALL of my characters is stored in the ‘SavedVariables’ folder I mentioned. The one that isn’t tied to any 1 character. So you might be good with just that.
You can try setting them up using a symlink. Then you can use the copy profiles, most addons have in-game.
Nope. Not how it works.
