Addons for WOW

I used to use Curse/twitch for Addons, then they left so I went to Singularity for addons but now they seem to not be updating or are just slow?
What addon manager does everyone else use or recommend?

I use Curseforge.

There is also WoWUP

I use Curseforge, it’s fine.

Curseforge is basically the same as the old Curse/twitch apps, but you need Overwolf installed to use it. People scream about it, but i have zero issues with it. Even use it for Hearthstone.

I use WowUp, works great.

It’s not just that Wowup is great. Almost anyone can just “make a working product.”

It’s that I had a small problem. I went to their Discord, the people there were very friendly and helpful. They helped me fix my issue in less than 5 minutes.

Anyone can “make a working product.” HOW YOU SUPPORT IT is what make you great.

Wowup all the way.

What is Overwolf? Never heard of it :frowning:

An essential plague needed to use Curseforge.

Yeah, I have been using since it went into beta about a year ago and haven’t ever had an issue with it. It even does a good job keeping my various minecraft mod packs up to date for me.

It’s the company that bought Curse from Twitch. I run it when I want to update addons, and then promptly close it while I play the game. Just make sure you check the box that says something along the lines of, “When you close Curse, also close Overwolf” or Overwolf will run in the background.

I use WowUp as well. I only run it like once a week then close it as soon as everything is updated.

Overwolf will still run in the background. You just no longer see it but the process still runs on your PC.

It runs while the curse.exe is open, but I no longer see it in my Task Manager once the app is closed. Now, if they named it something else when Curse is closed, so they can stay open, that’s not something I’m aware of, or would approve of. lol

And just so OverWolf knows, I am fluent in [End Task] and will stop your process from running if you try to trick me.

So I am looking at the “Wowup” I assume it’s safe to use with no virus or anything though right?
What is the legit website to download it from as I don’t want to go to the wrong site.

No no viruses, I have several protections on my computer and have used this for some time now with no issues. You can always do a google search for issues relating to it. I personally wouldn’t take the word of some random person I don’t know when it comes to protecting my computer, but that’s just me :grinning:
