So, I’ve been searching for an addon that will mark/track ore nodes on the map, the way Gathermate/Gatherer used to, but I haven’t been able to find one that functions correctly. Do these sort of mods no exist anymore, or can anyone recommend one? Many thanks in advance.

Gathermate doesn’t have the ability to examine the internal guts of the game and build an ore node map. I’m pretty sure Blizz doesn’t expose that info to any add-on.
Instead, Gathermate remembers ore nodes your find and uses data that is uploaded to wowhead. There is a wowhead add-on and client which gather’s in game data and uploads it to wowhead’s site. Gathermate subscribes to that data and uses it for its data add-on.
It’s basically relying on other users finding that data first.
