I use the addon manager WoWUP and today I had to download an update and then I got something about curseforge no longer supporting certain stuff. Now several of my addons are broken and won’t work. Not even DBM will show up anymore when I’m inside a dungeon or raid.
what should I do? should I get a different Addon manager now? since WoWUP seems to no longer be supported by stuff or is there a way to fix things?
Oh. I thought wowup stopped working months ago so I changed to curseforge.
Just made sure in the options that when I hit the x it closes and doesn’t minimize. I’ve not had any problems with it.
You can download them manually if you don’t want to use curseforge/overwolf. That’s what I do.
I switched to curseforge and got my addons updated. I also received free crypto gold miners and other assorted gifts on my machine within 5 minutes of install.
Did you also happen to find a unicorn as well since this “scenario” was made up with illogical errors
addons are working fine for me that are from curse and I use wowup. It just did a scan and said they aren’t supported but so far they still work.
Addons are being monopolized by overwolf, cutting off all other services from supplying them sadly. Blizz should sue them.

Blizzard won’t intervene unless they start charging for the ability to use and update them through their site. Otherwise as long as they don’t do that their sadly free to do what their doing. I imagine though with how blizzard is tanking their own game, probably won’t work out well for them in the end as dragonflight could be the end all be all for the game if it comes out worse than SL’s. Expansion broke literal top end guilds, which is really bad to have for a game like WoW.
Just the sad reality of the overwolf take over that they did, probably just gonna download it and use it once and while to update things, and then close it.
so for DBM I just had to uninstall and reinstall addon to fix it from wowup
So I now have multiple reasons to stop playing warcraft. Good to know.
This is what I do. It doesn’t take that long. Only a few minutes.
Fun fact. Curseforge is working on a wow specific client that doesn’t include overwatch. It’s in alpha ATM but can be downloaded. Just Google it.
That being said, I just switched my addon providers in wowup to not use curse anymore. Most of my addons are hosted elsewhere now.

You have to do a few steps to download it as it’s not specific how. Many still don’t want to because over history of overwolf. As it may be a separate client but they feel stuff still may come installed similar to overwolf app.
I updated my addons using Wowup last night and it worked fine.
