Aren’t addons that were scripted for the original 1.12 client not work on a client that actually isn’t 1.12, but 7.3.5 framework instead? Are we going to have to wait until creators make them operable on this client, or will they still work for some reason?
1.12 addons will probably not work. Classic will use a modified/restricted current addon API. If there’s a beta, chances are the big addons will be ready for release, if not then they will probably be shortly after release.

Vanilla add-ons made for 1.12 are unlikely to still work. I’d say retail add-ons are more likely to work but even those will probably need a few adjustments.
If you have to wait for your favorite add-on you probably won’t have to wait long if at all.
