Addons, a cheat? Or are they a boon and if so to whom

see? you actually care about others. that is the single best comment I have ever had anyone make to me in all my years in game. tyvm. be well and I will remind myself blizzard makes money on back door activities

Information delivery is not automation, and calling it that is misconstruing what the addon actually does. They allow the use of Gladius in Esports because tracking DR’s and CD’s is a needed thing for teams to be able to perform correctly. They allow DBM and such during the MDI because being able to appropriately respond to boss damage and phases is important.

The base UI is terrible at delivering information. Addons make information more easily understood. It is not automation.

That you don’t even have a clue what you’re talking about.

how the hell did politically correct become a part of this? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

What even is this? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

No they aren’t. You’re notoriously always wrong. Moving on.

Wrong. Blizzard sets the rules of the game. You are only “cheating” if you break the rules. The current rules, as set by blizzard, explicitly allow players to use addons. By definition, using addons is not cheating.

So I can’t see that well and have to rely off sounds to play and addons help me do that. What about that scenario?

cool. some of ya’ll are very strait and I appreciate it. I have had issues for years because quite honestly, I cannot stand clutter. It drives me batty so the idea of a multitude of additions to the game would be a bit harsh for the senses and to those of you kind enough to be patient with me, thank you very much

If you want, you can add me to discord and I can sit down with you and help you customize your UI. I built my own to try to avoid clutter as much as possible because clutter also drives me nuts.

“A needed thing” that’s the catch
is isn’t needed. I have 10+ buttons on FFXIV and I keep track of my CD’s just fine by using my eyes. People in WoW have forgotten games without addons are actually possible to play and are so fixated on being automated by addons in WoW, that a WoW without addons is suddenly impossible to play
M+ or raiding. And that’s sad. In other words, WoW players who depend on those addons have little skills in actually playing the game and making sense of what’s going on.

i know. thats why i posted this thread. other people do not use them so the haste of the groups that do make it difficult for those that do not.

Listen to Shad. He’s good people. He can set you up and get you de-cluttered.

I’m not sure? Get glasses.

I can’t help but wonder if OP is crossposting forums. Hmm

So you tell me to quit the game. Perfect solution. Bravo.
Nice after edit post there I saw that.

I read your post too fast lmao(hence the edit) but really
glasses are the solution. I can’t read far signs when driving, so I use glasses.

good point. i dont think anyone is really trying to be harsh but the point is
when using the tools available or not, someone always gets left out

Not your own CD’s, the enemy’s CD’s. And their DR’s.

Information delivery is not automation, stop calling it that. Automation would be someone running a kickbot which is against TOS. You’re labeling things incorrectly, or you’re understanding them incorrectly.

If you actually believe this, I dunno what to tell you.

me? naw. i dont do shady stuff. i just wanted to see how other people live in an envinronment with a Mod, because lets face it
TC aint a way to learn

He’s got zero respect for anyone with disabilities and is pretty uninformed on such topics. I wouldn’t engage.

Glasses doesn’t solve everything. I can’t tell if it’s purposely acting obtuse or if there’s really just zero understanding.
